Excellent video Jon, this will help me a lot when I start the the build of an M1A2 Tusk II, M2A2, and Type 59 tanks I have in my stash. I plan to build a diorama. Thank you for all this very useful information.

I'm glad you liked it John! It's a fairly straightforward method, and with changes to the colors, can account for just about any material or environmental situation, from any era. As always, thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks! Hopefully I'll be able to pick up the schedule a bit. I think once a week wasn't sustainable, but every-other-week-ish seems more doable... assuming I can stay well! 🤦‍♂️😊 Thanks for watching and commenting!

Nice tutorial from build to paint. I've never tried starting the tracks off with a dirty dusty color before a rush wash. Usually my base color is Vallejo's "German Camo Black Brown" but I like the variation you've shown, I'll have to mix it up on my next build with a lighter, dusty starting point just to experiment with the process. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much! Give it a try - I felt it worked very nicely. Of course, there are multiple ways of getting there, so this is not "the way", just "a way". :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

A nice technique Jon. I especially liked how you did the initial base-coating with that large drybrushing brush and stippling- I wasn't expecting that, it really worked over that dark primer.

Thanks! I've really started liking that way to paint large areas. Thin the paints down quite a bit and go to town. I tallows for a variety of coats to be built up, all the way to opaque. And it is so smooth! (Watch the painting of the Deimos Rhino - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmTdeY1-ebadrLs) Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It's great to hear from you!

@@stuarttempleton43 Thanks! It's less of a beard and more of a refusal to shave. 🤣

Hi Jon, I am probably really skewing the stats on this video as I watch and watch and watch to capture the techniques you used for the tracks. I am building my first 40K model ( generously given to me by a good friend ) and this video is very valuable to me.

Hey, if it's helpful, watch as often as you like! I don't pay any attention to the stats any more, so no worries there. Have fun with that build! Happy to to y'all John!

Ref the trackpads.Perhaps use a scalpel blade to make nicks and damage on them.

I thought about that. I opted not to simply for scheduling purposes - it would have taken too much time. But it definitely is a great method to add realism. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
