The teenage cancer trust is a fantastic money raiser. I love The Who they are the reason I took the guitar up 30yrs ago but I love Pete and Roger more than I ever did for helping out in such a way that it makes a huge difference and makes them more real than any of the music they make does and I am THEE Who fan.

Love Roger & the fact that the Who are still playing these days. These guys are just amazing! I think my hearing is shot from all the loud rock concerts from the 70's, but I'm so glad I grew up in this era! Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Still see the Who any chance I get

Yeah, it's strange how 70's reviews of various Who things labeled Roger as "not stupid but mainly interested in cars and girls." In fact, he got excellent grades in school and as Townshend says - was (is) extremely intelligent.
@markbowles23827 жыл бұрын
something i always admired about Daltry was his respect for hard working people - and brother 4 years in a steel mill as a young man taught him that, I didnt know anything about his work for teenage cancer victims, but its a great thing he's doing giving back to others cut down in the prime of life, thank you for stickin around and giving back Mr. Roger Daltry, you may be getting on in years but still a class act badass man among men, wishing you good health and long life as long as you wish it.

daltrey actually built the first guitar that the who (as the high numbers) used as well as driving the van to gigs. this guy has to have credit for keeping the group together through all the bad times. pete and roger are closer than ever now (even though roger knocked him out back in the day) and pete would probably agree that he is the de facto leader of the band.

As a long time lover of The Who since way back in early the 1960s, as a Mod, Im now 71, I listened to both Pete and Roger explain why they smashed the gear up, some kind of "Art" but as a poor young boy who would have given one of his balls for one of those guitars it made me cry to see such a beautiful guitar be destroyed. Im sure there were other British kids back in those days who would feel the same when watching Moon destroy his Drums...Nothing artistic about it mate.

I LOVE THE STORY PETE TELLS OF ROGER WALKIN OFF STAGE AND BACK UP TO THE HOTEL ROOM IN 67. HE WAS MAD OVER THE SPEED USE BY THE OTHERS. GOES INTO THE BATH AND POURS MOONS DRUG BAG DOWN THE TOILET. MOON DIVES ON HIM , THEY COME ROLLIN OUT THE BATH. JOHN PICKS UP HIS FEET, LIGHTS A SMOKE AND SIPS SOME BRANDY. PETE SAYS IM SITTIN ACROSS THE ROOM. JOHN PUTS OUT HIS SMOKE, STANDS UP, PICKS MOON AND DALTREY UP OFF THE FLOOR, SMILES AND CLANKS THERE HEADS TOGETHER. ROGER DREW BACK TO HIT JOHN AND HE SMILED AN POINTS TO HIS CHIN. THEN ENTWISTLE SITS DOWN LIKE ITS JUST ANOTHER DAY. FUNNY SHIT. ROGER WOULD NOT MESS WITH JOHN, AS PETE SAYS, JOHN WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM.

Roger's cool, but Pete Townshend IS The Who. Sure, Roger's 5'5" and one of those fast little tough guys who come at a bigger guy like a mad dog, no way to stop that. And let's face it, Pete's hardly a street fighter. Pete would've preferred to hang it up with The Who long ago, except that poor Roger had no other way to make money, so Pete did him a favor. But, just like with Led Zep, when the drummer died, so did the band. Pete's said as much.
