The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open is scheduled to go ahead between August 23 - September 11.

Tough loss for agassi in US open 2004 & 2005 where he could win GS but eventually he found federer at opposite end & fed was too strong in his prime years. Agassi's career longevity from late 80's to early 2000's is really phenomenal. He was truly founder of modern day tennis.

1:42:18: I think this is the David Foster Wallace point as described in his NYT article "Roger Federer as Religious Experience". DFW was slightly incorrect in that he described Federer as hitting a defensive slice, and Agassi being passed at the net.

American audience always so loud, and it's also unclassy to yell "Go Agassi" or whatever when the opponent is serving. In other turnaments, it's much quieter when the players serve and prepare to serve, it's something you really notice when watching a lot of different matches.

99% of the audience would agree with you. It’s normally a few idiots that yell during both players’ serves in this match. Also matches in Madrid and elsewhere get just as loud and yelling during serves happen as well. Your biases just have you think otherwise.

Why is agassi at 35 old and djokovic at 36 invincible?
@lukeskirenko
@lukeskirenko 10 ай бұрын
Because medical technology has evolved, and tennis is now like formula 1 in the sense that a player is part of a large team whose job it is to manage the player as if he's a piece of technology himself. Plus of course, Djokovic evolved his style for maximum efficiency.... in comparison to Murray, who tried to compensate for an unnatural forehand technique and lack of power by running everything down.
