Lex has this tendency to immediately attempt a counterpoint to the very question he asked. Lol. Just listen for like an extra minute or two longer. Then state your opinion.

I wish Lex would understand that playing devil's advocate can sometimes be good, but when you do it ALL the time, it's just really fucking annoying

I know they kind of went over this, but wouldn't back control (from top) be the most dominant? I mean, it's not more difficult to hold, they're flat on the ground on their stomach, they have zero offense even for striking, and if they try to push themselves up they immediately expose their neck and have no arms to defend a choke. Unless he counts this as a "back MOUNT" then I would say it's definitely superior to mount.

I'm not a fan of regular mount but if I switch to s mount it's really powerful with body weight and pressure

I sort of agree but I think there are more attacks from top mount than from s mount.

Mount is great for a lot of reasons. I really like twister side control if you have a weapon though.

I always try to take mount with underhooks. If you make sure to always get an underhook with your weapon hand, you can get really "smashy" and safe, if that makes sense.

This is where I realised lex should hand back his black belt. He's Roger gracie he's always right. Lex, he's saying if you're in Mount, you can do a lot more. Lex had a lot of missed segways. I wish he had asked what to do in no gi. 5 Dan black belt Roger gracie in this interview I could have learnt a lot more.

Give twister side control a try sometime. It provides some different options.

I felt like being on top of someones back with their belly on the floor was more dominant but i guess it depends on the situation on whether regualar mount is more dominant. I think people can get out of the back position easier but i also think they can receive damage faster from that position as well via strikes to the back of the head or rear naked choke. So in comparison i think you can have more control from traditional mount but do damage faster from mounting the back .

Yea I was thinking about that technically looking at it outside in, it would be a hybrid between those two were you have mount and have them facing away from you into the ground, theres very limited things a person can do except try to survive.
