Very interesting ... On the Ricky 12, the high Octave string and standard gauge strings positions are reversed (when compared to your standard 12 string guitar); so, the down stroke is the lower note and the high string "jangle" is a sympathetic sound. If you've ever tried to play "My Tambourine Man" on a standard 12 string, you know it will always disappoint (because those strings need to be reversed to get THAT sound). On this 7 string, you NEED to have the 3rd string paired with the high octave, just as you have it on a Ricky 12, in order to make this song work. I must say, it sounds great too!
