The blued hands and applied numerals are absolutely stunning.

This is my favourite watch I’ve seen on your channel. I have enormous respect for Roger Smith. Ok the watch won’t be to everyone’s taste with the very thick, 3 section case, but to think that all those parts (apart from the main and hairspring I believe) are made from scratch, in a work shop in the Isle of Man, is mind-blowing. Also the finishing of the watch is phenomenal - especially the dial and movement.

I restore antique clocks for a living or did for many years. I made hands from scratch but nothing like Roger Smiths. To blue those hands and numerals so perfectly and to get the purple tint exactly the same throughout just speaks volumes to me. These guys are the masters of watch making.

Do you use a hemispherical globe to even it out? It just needs some type of upside down wine glass structure to keep the heat and air on your heated plate even.

I had the great pleasure to have that very same watch on my wrist in 2019 when the then owner (a regular customer of mine, he purchased it in auction in 2019) brought it to the shop I work in for a new strap. Not sure if he still owns it as I've not seen him since C19 began but I did have to explain the significance of who RWS actually is as he had no idea but just bought it because it was unusual!!

He went big on the sub seconds dial. Real stunner.

Unbelievable work. I have seen several videos about these watches and the official measurement of their thickness seems to be, "Not thin." 😁

I don't like the movement finishing that much. Check out the Akrivia AK-06. A RW Smith front and a Dufour back. The ideal combination :-)

@@richardr2555 If I'm going to spend $100k+ on a watch, it's has to be entirely handmade, no excuses. As far as I know, Roger Smith, Kari Voutilainen and De Bethune are the only watchmakers that produce everything in-house.

Love master watchmaker Roger Smith's works, who is carrying the torch left behind legendary master watchmaker George Daniel's. This Series 2 custom timepiece is exhilarating, and totally awesome. A true in-house piece that's 100% British plus done (mostly) by hand! Moser & Cie, formerly Russian but now Swiss, are another independent who do 100% in-house, hand made timepieces too. Thank you for sharing dude! ❤️⌚

nah the retail from RW Smith is only ~100k pounds. pre-owned would go lower since he is still accepting orders
