Pink Floyd music was a powerful influence on my life and mental health. The Wall is a tribute and resolution to childhood trauma. My teenage grandson has been brought up with the music and he's quite a good guitarist. He's also willing to be aware of the world and to want to know the issues. I'm optimistic that so many his age are passionate about peace. Shame it's such a dangerous concept to the war mongers and profiteers. We stand with Palestine, we stand for peace!

I now think people with that kind of mindset need to go back to school and learn a bit of history. I've watched a lot of pro-palestine videos and a lot of pro-Israel videos. This has resulted in me changing my mind and I am now more pro-Israel. I do not agree with the people who say Israel are committing war crimes in Gaza. Those people fail to acknowledge that under international law, if you are using a hospital as a military base, then it is a legitimate target. How do these people who are blaming Israel think we defeated the Nazis during WWll? Do they think we just sat back worrying about the number of German civilians we would kill in an air raid over Berlin? No, we bombed the hell out of them and we would not have defeated Hitler if we hadn't taken that attitude. Many innocent German civilians died because of this. People who are pro-Palestine = complete and utter ignoramuses. I'm glad I am no longer one of those misguided people.

The core issue is the United States (and GB before them) prefers Zionism, just as the US preferred the Hungarian Fascists in 1956, or the Shaw to the democratically elected Iranian president, or Pinochet, or the Taliban, or the Ukranian Nazi the list is too long so I hope people get the point. The US MIC prefers obedient loyal ethno-nationalists and religious nationalists, and fascists as opposed to real liberalism, real democracy, or real socialism. In the case of Israel it was called „the unsinkable battleship of the Middle East“, for its strategic importance of controlling the resources, trade, and governments in the region. So the Israel issue can not be understood without this basic framing of the situation. The USA is responsible for the situation. And for the record there were early socialists in Israel who had an entirely different point of view like Martin Buber. He denounced Zionism after he saw it as another nationalist chauvinist movement. But does anyone really think that the USA was going to allow his vision of a socialist confederation of Kubbitz?

Thank you Roger, 100% right. As a Venezuelan, 3 parts Basque and 1 part Spanish I salute you, Venezuela is now experiencing freedom from the US. Hard I know, but we did it, and one day we will not only be recognized by being the Cradle of Liberty from Spanish rule but the Breakers of the Chains of USA domination too!
