I’m 34. Been a Pink Floyd fan since I was 15. Roger Waters has always been my favorite song writer. Always will be. Obviously I don’t agree 100% with his views but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Pink Floyd has meant so much to me and his lyrics in particular. Now you can make an argument that he Honestly, if you have been following Roger for the last few years you should have noticed that his politics are pretty much the only thing that drives him these days. Remember the sole purpose of this tour when it was announced in 2019 was to make in an impact on the election “This is not a Drill.” Why are people upset that he’s doing exactly what he said he was going to do? He didn’t lie. He said it was meant to be political. I love Pink Floyd with all my heart and you’ll still get to hear all that great stuff. But you know what you are getting into when you bought tickets for this show. I cant wait to see it in Dallas TX, which is the last date on the tour. Excited.

Waters has always been the soul of the band. He wrote almost all of the lyrics and most of the music, just look at the credits for Animals and The Wall. Roger has always been politically active so anyone who goes to an RW show knows what they're going for. Those who don't like it always have the possibility to pick up the discs and enjoy.

Not thinking about the message and allusions at all, sometimes they don't even know nor care about the lyrics. It’s certainly one of them, but I don’t know that it’s a primary reason. I suspect it doesn’t really matter what Roger does or says; as far as David Gilmour is concerned, Roger chose to wash his hands of Pink Floyd, so why should he be allowed to slag him any more than absolutely necessary? I suspect that if David wanted to slag Roger on his official website, Roger wouldn’t let him do it either. Personally, although I’m on Team Gilmour, I’ve always thought this entire feud has been too much. They’re both old men acting like petulant kids. And it’s almost fifty years already! Enough!

Not everyone who buys a Roger Waters concert ticket because they like Dark Side of the Moon follow his politics closely enough to realize that he is a Communist and an antisemite. He tries to hide some of those elements from the masses to some degree. He doesn't open the concert saying "I am a Communist. I hate God and I hate ethnic Jewish people. I support the Russian invasion of Ukraine and I support the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons against women and children! I'm Roger Waters and I approve this!" If he was more honest always about just what exactly he's into, it would seriously effect his ticket sales, so he is always somewhat downplaying just how much of a nutbar he genuinely is. There's no honesty from Roger. So it's like if you went to KFC after they were falsely advertising and they took advantage of you.

So basically you cannot separate the art from the artist guys. It's just not possible. The art is the artist, it's a natural extension of their psyche. Even the smallest things are this way. Roger will always have the right to express whatever he feels and if you do not like the things that he expresses than you shouldn't listen to his music. Full stop. Or at the very least don't complain about it. Artists are not your court jesters, they are not your trained dancing monkeys. Hell, art doesn't even really have to be entertaining. It's an expression, it's a stroke of the mind. If that expression is entertaining, then good! But your appreciation and views on art do not and will not change how they are

I just saw the show a few nights ago and thought it was a great show. Yes it was political. Don't have a problem with that. I don't agree with Roger 100% but I am with him on most of the messaging. Words that make us uncomfortable are not going to to hurt us. I would go see David Gilmour too.

I saw Waters before the pandemic. I am not a Trump fan but that's beside the point. The point is, I waited 30 years to see the iconic flying pig. Not the pig flying around the arena with 'Fuck Trump' flashing in neon lights on the pig. If I was a fool for not wanting Roger's politics shoved down my throat, so be it. But Waters was a jerk for not enforcing an age limit, leaving grandparents trying to explain to their grand kids why they were brought to a show with 'Fuck Trump,' 'Fuck Israel', ' Fuck Capitalist Pigs, and whoever else he could think of to tell to go fuck off flashing on 30 ft Fiber optic screens. Maybe all would have been forgiven if he put on a live show rather than a pre planned political skit with zero spontaneity and more pre recorded backing tracks than a Milli Vanilli show.

Maybe it can be annoying if you just want music, but there is an older generation that wants to resist the change that the upcoming generations desperately want and need. The old can hold the young hostage through democracy until they finally die, or we can shout our messages from the rooftops, hear each other out and allow the world to evolve with us

I am a nerd of Pink Floyd history and know how to play most of their songs on guitar and I don’t agree with Roger’s politics for the most part. I’m still a fan. It’s not that deep
