interesting to listen to the two versions of "give birth". the film version sound like a PF single from the time like "point me at the sky" while the slow down version on the LP is precursor of dark side and "Brain damage".

Finally someone with interest on this album... I love Rogers work in this, very delicate songs. I support this project and would like to help if possible. How did you get hold of the movie itself? Did you Rip this audio from it?

Help? How could be helped? Project is done and finished, time to sit back and enjoy) Yes for this project I've bought the Body DVD, that some of the songs were included there in better quality, as the bonus. For example, the last song is presented there without a Vanessa Redgrave speach, but i had to do volume alterations. Now I'm into next project making the diffinitve version of Robert Wyatt Drury Lane 1974 gig, using two different audio sources. Thank you for kind words!

Bring Roger Waters & Ron Geesin's project for the film I believe is Roy Battersea or something similar, directing... The film's impossible to find and should be in the Public Domain considering it's origins

Very good job! Just a small note on the credits. I'm pretty sure Pink Floyd played on 'Give Birth To A Smile' only on the album version. In the film version you have Roger's vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, piano and drums only. I think Roger played the guitars, Geesin the piano and Nick Mason the drums.

You mention an 'unknown celloist' - well, the end credits of the film include Haflidi Hallgrimsson, the Icelandic composer who played cello on Atom Heart Mother. I think the early recording sessions for the music were done at Abbey Road, and HH was one of many regular session musicians who worked there at the time. I just assumed Geesin did the cello part; however, if you know Sea Shell and Soft Stone featured a different cellist, and HH is mentioned in the credits, then I guess it must be him.

Great, thanx! I just don't understand - what do you mean "a different cellist" for Sea Shell and Soft Stone? Different from who and where?
@adriansaunders5313

@@shlomopolonsky Sorry. What I mean is, because I know Ron Geesin can play cello, I assumed it was him playing cello on these tracks. But you said the recording features an 'unknown celloist' on the Sea Shell and Soft Stone tracks, and that puzzled me. And then when I watched the film, I saw that HH was credited at the end. Knowing he played cello on Atom Heart Mother then I guess it must be him playing on 'The Body'.

@@adriansaunders5313, ah, now I understand. Yes I've seen here and there that he used guest celloist. And now you 've brought this important detail, thank you! So we can guess that this HH played through all of The Body project, both soundtrack and album, hey? That was a real fun to create separated tracks from the album, I should say))

Another question: this lousy edit on Chain Of Life (the movie version) after "when you are passing by". On the album there is a guitar phrase as the bridge to "the years of love and wine". I guess this phrase wasn't born yet at the time of recording for the movie, what do you think?

@@shlomopolonsky I'm glad you mentioned the rest of the project - I think some Pink Floyd fans write Geesin off as 'eccentric' and don't realise what a great musician he is. 'The Body' is really worth listening to as a whole, not just as a curiosity. You don't sound familiar with Hallgrimsson - again I think most PF fans would think of him as 'the man who played cello on Atom Heart Mother'. He is a great composer and well worth a listen.

Zabriskie Point isn't so much a linear or literal story telling film from Antoniani who one critic lambasted his methodically slow tracking shots to losing viewer interest within a minute or two, that review online cracked me up but it is an artistic medium with no hard or fast rules
