@@JM32JM32thank you for your thoughts. :) I understand the statement. I believe most people who dive into the storytelling will feel that is it also nice to have some of it be a bit generic, as there are plenty of aliens and lore to get involved in.

The game is incredible. I love it. You can compare story experience to KOTOR, Mass Effect & Co. Did play the complete prototype... Did some footage, too.

Nice! Have you checked out their TTS? They have the other characters there as well. Glad I am not the only one that enjoyed it so much :) We'd sit and play several missions through even as we wanted to keep going :D

Wanted to say that I backed Emil's first game, Burning Suns and despite lots of slipups and delays, we ended up with a solid, if underrated, game. While I don't have much to add about this game, I will say Emil is truly a nice guy and stand up dude.

I've watched a few games of this played by others and really love it! Definitely backed it. Did you mention that the enemy's actions are programmed by the cards you show around 9:20 as well as the same enemies changing the way they act based on the part of the mission you play? So, even though you are fighting the enemies of the same name, they act differently in Mission X-1 vs Mission X-2. I didn't catch it if you did. I also love miniatures and I think this game would have some really awesome opportunities for sculps based on it's content. But, after playing some Kinfire Chronicles, I LOVE the colorful acrylic standees. So, if minis aren't an option, maybe colorful acrylic standees could be an alternative that won't break the bank. Something that I will argue with you on is the map book. I'm looking at the map book as a minimalistic way to get the game up and running quickly. But, I have Core Space, and can remake the maps using a 2'x2' neoprene mat with 3d walls. I can proxy in some minis (although the stats for the enemies being on their standee may be a problem.) Anyway, all this to say that I think the game will be great as it is with a lot of content. And just proxy in minis, build a 3d map with walls and boxes, etc. with what you already have. I don't think every game needs to go down the path of adding so much to it that it's now over $500 for everything. Especially when the gameplay is the same when it's got standees, versus minis and cardboard cutout map tiles versus a rectangular map book page. Could the map book have better artwork in it? Maybe, I haven't seen all of it. But, maybe they didn't go down that road so it's easier to see to play. Lots of good stuff here. Thanks for making a review video. I'm especially excited that this made it in your top 3. I'm excited for it from the gameplay videos I've seen so far!!

Very Very Nice!! Thanks for showing us the game! However, I can pop up on the other side of your "design choice" overview for the large maps. I have some maps that I think you would really like (they are gorgeous with everything flowing all around the whole map. However, I find such a map extremely hard to use! Sometimes I can't even figure out where the "lines" are that outline the hex or square spaces on the map (sometimes there actually were none in sections. But, that's just me on the other side of the fence :) Thanks for the Video!

It looks like you will be getting your wish regarding miniatures! When the Kickstarter released we see that it includes miniatures for "our team". Yay! However ... the "enemy" may remain as standees... but actually I really really really like it that way because each enemy has it's "stats" printed right there on the standee! This is perfect! Miniatures for our team. Standees with stats shown for the enemy. Just Right!

This looks amazing, but I haven't completed Jaws of the Lion yet. I like that this is basically a RPG in a box. I like the standees much more than miniatures. This is very tempting to put $125 into, but I'm worried that it will sit on my shelf for years.

Great sci-fi adventure with co-aliens driven story lines. Hoping more miniatures of npc added through whole Ks campaign will be 1+ and prefect.😃

I hope to see minis. Or better standees maybe acrylic. I’ll watch the campaign. Also didn’t the original campaign have walls before it was rereleased. What I’m playing. My group just finished champ yet 5 of oathsworn. (That game is a 10/10 so much fun.) only my character has been KOed twice. I have to get some more defense items. I went all in on offense with massive dmg as the scared tribes barbarian. I just finished mission 2. This game makes fabulous stories. And you can write a book on what happens to you with all the encounter cards. It’s so much story. My sorceress died. And will be replaced now by the dark stone shaman. So far the MVP is the ninja. Since she ignored defense on the giant crocodile. I also finally started playing shadows of brimstone - I’m starting with the valley of the serpent kings campaign. Won

Hi John, there are boss battles in RA. Not all are necessarily triggered, and not all are necessarily defeated in order to progress the story. But they happen, once and if they serve the story 🙂🙂

I would like to know, is this one of those games easy to lern and easy to master? Narrative is nice, but it is not the reason why I play a boardgame. Digital Games are far batter at this. I want a really cooperative, jusy Gameplay. And what about the need to cooperate? It sounded it was needed. Is it like Trespass Odessy in case of need to cooperate, or better?

Nah! I’m good. Too many of these campaign dungeon crawlers. Strictly sticking to one shot games now. Play for few hours pack up and that’s it. No storyline, level up rpgs. Over it, got several unfinished ones already I’m trying to get rid of.

I am not sure why but your presentation on this one just seemed very bland and robotic, like you were reading verbatim off of cue cards. This video was not your usual engagement with the audience like a conversation at all. While the game looks to have a bland table presence to me, the review did not do it any justice in that department. Hopefully, this was just an off day or something.
