I do agree that Rogue Company would have had the potential to be Hi Rez's top IP. As long as at release, when it went free to play, had rank, stable net infrastructure, updates that didn't break the game in some way and proper balance between SMG's and Assault Rifles that didn't result in lowering the TTK and nerfing melee weapons Rogue Company could have been something. Even when the Dr Disrespect gamble didn't pay off.

Yeah, can't say I was surprised when I saw the news. I think since they switched over the dev team last year it was a sign of the end. The thing this game was missing off the bat was advertisement and customer awareness of the game. I remember seeing the trailer and becoming ecstatic about its release (I was a big Fortnite player then). But when the game launched I heard nothing about it. I played it a few months ago cause I remembered the game, and it’s great. Sad I didn’t play the game at its peak.

Hirez has dropped the ball alot. They had a hit with Smite 8 years ago but never really marketed or fully committed because they were trying to make other games and chase trends and failed each time. Rogue company was their second best game and again they just dont have the ability to not kill a game.

Remember when they said they were dumping switch players for "new content" only to release 1 rogue since then. I was a founder on switch, and endured YEARS of BS and them breaking the game in different ways on switch every season. Only to have the rug pulled.

People have made a lot of reasons for ifs failure. But the main reason is that game was barebones during its open beta and launch. Aboalutely no progression rewards and nothing in the shop for several months. And the season 1 was very underwhelming.

So I brought this in alpha, during lockdown, stayed on it everyday, became a pro at it, and could clutch 1 v 4's... What I loved about the game, was the abilities of the rogues, the map designs and for the beginning all of the updates and details we would get. What I didn't like and still don't, is the fact that they didn't add 4 more rogues like they said they were going to... They listened to only big streamers and not people who played the game a lot, I always believed it would of been sick to have a custom load out. Ive also said that they need to re work some of the rogues, I felt some of them lacked the potential that they could of been used for. I went back to this a few months back and it was shit, took forever to join a lobby and when I did half the team left. Games gone downhill since I last played it, battle pass was shit, the loot boxes were terrible. Not to explain the amount of hacking and cheating I've seen on the game. Good riddance to a game that died so quickly

Well the thing they Collab with Dr disrespect and he had millions of followers. They tried to innovate the game, but the thing was the studio and the team was small. Only 15 members at the time of the game's official release, it was in a state of unplayable most of the time. Most of the LTM were pretty terrible, the daily logins and battle passes (apart from 2) were shit. When you got to level 10 on a rogue you got a costume which in my opinion was pretty terrible. The launch was amazing and the alpha and beta was probably the best state of the game. They also tried making the game into a battle royale which just flopped. I honestly think this game died a year or two after it came off, I mean obviously people tried to keep it alive but it just didn't happen. As for the bugs, with every game it's always going to be that way, plus they weren't making that much money for the game, so that was a massive factor.

What a shame. It was a really great game. They killed this game when they nerfed everything into the ground. LMP was such a fun gun back then. Every character for the most part had its angles to be really good but they wanted it to be less stompy so the casual free to play children would stick around.

I will forever miss Roco from Seasons 0 - 2. To me it was basically perfect, of corse with the exception of bugs and server issues. I miss the competitive nature it used to have.
