Night Elf is very strong with sub leveling as your level of stealth is higher. Not to mention their base agility is higher and have higher dodge chance.

I leveled a rogue in som as a dagger sub rogue, it was so much fun, felt like a real rogue with steal thing always and ambushing targets. Combat always felt like playing a squishy warrior. I'll try my chances with a rogue as my first hc character :)

I disagree with a fair bit of this. I don't think the info is bad or anything but take the profession section. Skinning plus lw is great for selling for the mount cost (vendore wise)but as hc is about surviving than herb and Alchemy will provide much greater benefits for a rogue. Potions,water breathing, thistle tea ect. Official servers will also have access to ah so unless you plan to still use addon selling herbs on ah will gain you gold as well. Race wise humans are great end game because of sword mace spec but a lot of leveling is with daggers and I would argue something like stoneform or escape artist would do you better. And undeads more defensive racials would make them a choice on par with trolls whether you want offensive vs defensive. This is my own opinion of course and I do enjoy the guides. 😊

I'm probably going human this time, but I feel like the NE benefits rarely or never get mentioned. Higher base agi, an extra level of stealth basically, and shadowmeld can be useful when stealth is on its 10s cooldown to avoid pulling a pat or something (Shadowmeld and then when stealth CD comes up, go directly from meld to stealth). +5 mace and swords is so strong if you're using them, and very strong for leveling, but if you're playing daggers and intending to do some stealthy stuff, I don't think NE is necessarily that horrible. Also, a tiny bit of NR I guess. I wonder if they'll rework the wisp racial passive since it is basically incompatible with HC.

It depends how you look at it, Skinning/mining is probably the best professions if you just need to make gold and be 100% covered for your mount at 40 + all your skill needs on your leveling journey. One of the biggest things when you are starting on a new realm is gold and if you have it you are fine, if not then the whole leveling becomes a pain when you are struggling to pay for your skills or mount. Another issue is bag space, when you have actually training a skill and carrying components in bag all the time, it cuts your ability to take and vendor loot. if you are just farming skins and ore it doesn't even feel bad to vender all of it every time you shop since you don't have a demand to hold onto it

I'm currently leveling a rogue with the backstab / ambush build with talent points spread out all 3 specs. Only level 30 and in a duo (with someone taunting), but its already been a lot of fun! Seeing some very big crits. Can definitely recommend!

Doing the same atm, and in dungeons it definetly pops off. Solo you can oneshot green enemies with ambush crit. Great for fast xp without needing to eat

Helpful and informative, but you seem to skip the benefits of garrote into slice and dice as combat. Paired with a pick pocket macro, this is a great opener and gold making tool while leveling.

@@Gunshow0 In stealth, you can make a macro for each opening move (ambush, sap, garrote, cheap shot, etc) that will pick the pockets of humanoids first. You may have to loot them twice, but you get a few extra gold and lots of lock boxes while leveling. Google pick pocket macros, and you will be able to copy them into your interface.

​@@Gunshow0 Step 1: Turn on auto loot Step 2: Make makro with pickpocket and garrot inside Step 3: walk up a humanoid enemy Step 4: push the button Step 5: click on Slice and dice Step 6: profit ................ Its your strongest opener as combat The thing is, for slice and dice is actually your most cost efficient finisher and you get more damage on the mob if you start the fight with SnD instead of an overkill eviscerate at the end of it. The 2 combo points of garrote are a sweet spot as this ensures you get exactly the points you need. Putting pickpockt in it helps you to never forget pickpocket on humanoids

garrote is useless if it doesn’t last the entire duration, if you’re going to do that i’d just open with sinister strike macro’d with pick pocket unless it’s an elite mob where you’ll benefit from the full garote

why do we use a slow main hand and fast offhand? instead of slow both hands? wouldnt you want to dual wield swords in order to get the most out of the sword specialization talent? (5% chance to get an extra attack after dealing damage with your sword) so you would have 2 swords proccing instead of one?

poison procs on OH are the main reason. OH hit's miss and parry alot more than MH. so fast hits = more chance for poison proc

I think nightelf is always an underdog. They get 1% dodge, 5 more base agility than human, and 1 additional level of stealth. It’s my go to for a dagger rogue. Best? Idk but not terrible especially on one life

If you’re planning to use mainly/only daggers human doesn’t add any benefit so that makes sense.

@@PandiTheBear yeah that’s my favorite spec. Murder casters in pvp or combat daggers with lots of haste & sharpening stones. The spec that makes sharpening stones better than poisons 😂

Level 12 and 13 talents are bad choices. Rush either 5 parry for riposte or 5 hit chance. Riposte is the best dps ability in your kit. Its a passive damage increase from parry hasting, a low cost ss, and a defensive all in one. Meanwhile Remorseless is useless on your first target, and a 50% chance to be useless on your second target because of low crit chance at low level. Also, slice and dice is not worth casting in solo play until around level 40 unless you have something like a cruel barb. Sinister spam is equal or more damage with 0 risk of wasting up time.

Also, cooking + herbing + alch is the way to go for rogue. Herbing gives you double value because of cooking the thistle tea being a great cd and alchemy is obviously s tier on its own.

Rogue guide - engineering isnt good for rogues- what Lw-skin/alch-herb better:also what Lets seeeee. Leatherworking gear: usually boe, can buy off the ah. Alchemy pots: also boe, can buy off the ah.
