I really enjoyed this film. Very fun and entertaining. The gritty attention to detail, the costumes, the new planetary settings and cinematography, all helped immerse the viewer and give a fine sense of the epic scope - something Force Awakens never really managed to achieve, in my opinion. At the end you wanted to cry because you saw just how much the Rebellion had to sacrifice just for a little bit of data, which made that ending all the more chilling to watch.
@Mav3rick8888 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. The plot made sense as well, unlike Force Awakens where plenty of actions from the characters lacked logic. The whole "Star Wars" atmosphere is way more present as well... Better than TFA on every level actually.
@gkay88898 жыл бұрын
Mav3rick888 the star wars atmosphere is in the force awakens alot more..but it had more suspense than ep 7..but i like ep 7 a bit more
@Mav3rick8888 жыл бұрын
I got actually bored during episode 7 at multiple times. The fact that no characters seemed to be really engaged in the plot took me out of it as well. In RO, every character wants to go further, to push their boundaries even if that means death, and to me, that felt very "Star Wars". I felt the same emotions that I felt during the battle of Endor. You actually felt danger for the characters all the time and that is a great deal to me. Rogue One was everything I imagined as a kid and it feels good to be back home. Force Awakens never managed to take me back just there even for a minute, it felt like a parody. Rogue One is real Star Wars to me.
@gkay88898 жыл бұрын

He has a genuine child like enthusiasm for the franchise but also the maturity to understand the responsibility and the need for bringing something new to the table whilst being respectful of the legacy of the saga. I didn't act like it's dog shit, I just said it's not nearly as good as IV or V. It's still enjoyable though. Also you talk about film making and say Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One are on par? You may like them equally but the cinematography in rogue one is far superior.
@DYRECT17 жыл бұрын
Screw that, I am treating The Force Awakens like Dog shit because that's exactly what is was. It was literally a rehash version of A New Hope. The film was hardly enjoyable. Yeah sure it had a few good moments but nothing phenomenal or breath taking to redeem this movie. The characters were just there, Rey was so good at everything she's practically the Mary Sue of Star Wars, Finn who was a sanitation Stormtrooper who was able to hold his own against Kylo Ren. The Force Awakens was un-original and had the sense of emptiness. The movie didn't do or improve on anything. Rouge One is recognised by many fans and critics as being on par with Empire Strikes Back. Did your retarded comment really just say: "If i want to watch a war movie, I'll see Saving Private Ryan. Hmm what if i were to tell you Star Wars has the word 'Wars' in it, implying Wars take place. Rogue One literally puts the War in the Star Wars. It's Dark, Gritty, Adventurous, Action Packed, Has outstanding cinematography and action sequences, doesn't follow cliche love stories, filled with easter eggs, Great CGI (especially bringing back Grand Moff Tarkin) and so much more. This movie captures what a real Star Wars movie should be. Also when you get the approval and praise from the creator of Star Wars aka George Lucas on Rogue One it means a lot, especially since he disliked The Force Awakens. but that's just an added bonus.
@Atadritaata7 жыл бұрын
Rogue One is not a war movie anyway, it's for the most part an adventure movie. It doesn't have much more war in it than other star wars movies. It has plenty of funny moments too. So your point doesn't really make sense...

@MrJest28 жыл бұрын
The Brits essentially INVENTED modern theater, which directly translates into movie making. They've been doing it for centuries, which is why they are so good at it. Plus, as noted in the middle clip, there are very few "prima donnas" generally (although some recently have become infected with the Hollywood Disease), which is why you get Sean Connery doing toothpaste commercials... because he's an actor, and that's his job, so he acts. Same thing goes for the crew members as well.

(This is my opinion. I respect your opinion, so please respect mine) I really liked this movie. It was so much more entertaining than Force Awakens because it felt so new. Even if most of the characters were kinda meh (K-2SO was the best), the battle scenes were on point. When I first saw Force Awakens, I thought it was good, but upon looking back, I feel like the only reason it was good for me was because of the references and how it was so hyped up. Rogue one, on the other hand, felt so new and so refreshing that I can say it was honestly good (in my opinion). The fact that all of the characters died is quite literally one of my most favorite things about this film. It strays away from the whole "Oh everyone survives, yay, blah blah blah" kind of deal that films nowadays seem to beat the living deuce out of. Of course, all of this is my opinion. I respect any and all different opinions, and I hope that this opinion will also be respected.

Felt the exact same way about Force Awakens, that and its penchant for relying on references to the original trilogy. I went to the midnight screening and loved it, particularly because of the fan reactions in the crowd. My second viewing revealed what a flat and unfortunately boring movie it really was. Rogue one, despite some flaws, was fun, exciting, and I feel did enough new and fresh to really reinvigorate my love for the Star Wars universe.

Thanks for uploading this. Rogue One is the greatest SW fan film ever made, and I don't mean that as an insult. I don't consider it to be canon. I don't consider the Prequel and sequel trilogies canon, either, but as the R1 behind the scenes footage seen here along with the finished film shows, there was some genuine love for SW from everyone involved. That can't be said for the Prequels or JJ's trash. Star Wars fans do not want agendas or straight up intolerance in their SW films. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a message, though. Lucas got that right in the OT and didn't beat anyone over the head with it.

Just incredible. To think about how far this Star Wars universe has come since the early 1970's. And how Star Wars has been passed on from generation to generation, just becoming more and more legendary. I just finished watching a 3 hour documentary on the original trilogy and it was funny to compare the behind the scenes of episode 4 a new hope to this behind the scenes of Rogue One. I thought it was interesting how most of the crew on A new hope took the project as a complete joke and not very seriously. George Lucas had an incredible vision for this universe that people could not even comprehend back then, sure, but he really must have had a ton of determination to finish that first film, musta been tough to make while everyone thought you were a joke. guess he sure showed those people! haha. im just glad they are continuing on with George Lucas's incredible vision so carefully.

Rogue one was the Darkest Star Wars Movie and it was Gritty too because we all knew this movie was going to be a suicide mission for these characters, this is by far the best one and personally my favorite Star Wars Movie! It was done very well and this movie was phenomenal ! I just love how dark and gritty this movie is. This is basically a War Film! Gareth Edwards has brought alot to this movie and really made it his own!

This is the fucking prequel we needed. Qui Gon was one of my fav characters, though.

I must say, Star Wars did a nice job making a Halo: Reach movie.

So I kept hearing! Rogue One is the 'Fall of Reach' of Star Wars...Eventually I'll have to take a look at Reach even though I've never played any of the HALO games.

I wouldn't have minded this story being split up in multiple movies. I think there was so much potential with the chemistry between all of the characters

This guy should have been the director on episode 7 instead of JJ Abrams who just copy pasted the 4th episode A New Hope, JJ Abrams should just stick to Star Trek.
@charliehiggison96708 жыл бұрын
completely agree
@2nijuni28 жыл бұрын
Man, JJ never understood Star Trek. He took a clever franchise about humanistic values, and turned it into action flicks. Now he did the same with Star Wars, thinking action sequences and cheap humor make a good film, despite numerous plot holes and a total lack of world-building. He's just an overappreciated Michael Bay. I wish Gareth had directed episode 7 too. Rian Johnson is our only hope for the new trilogy.
@charliehiggison96708 жыл бұрын
2nijuni2 i agree with you as well.... i think what Liam godinez meant was that we don't mind if JJ messes up Star Trek. lol
@Mav3rick8888 жыл бұрын
Agreed, Force Awakens was a miserable fan film with a huge budget. It failed on every level ; intensity (no music in key scenes, making Ren take off his mask during a fucking interrogatory), consistence (every character doesn't seem to give a shit about the galaxy, even luke) and a whole lot of other shit like those corny "funny" scenes, when Han picks up Chewies blaster like he never did that in all those years... To be honest, Force Awakens is even worse than the prequels to me. It's not Star Wars at all, It's a parody.
@cinemaina6668 жыл бұрын
Liam Godinez no matter the director episode 7 was always going to be a copy of a new hope. It was more disneys idea than JJ's

afterglow this spinoff is best star wars movie ever with great storyline and best casts. 6.5 will be awesome where it'll involve large scale space and planetery battle like 3.5 near ending part.

Spanish Latin? Care to elaborate about the definition of that term?
@nukliozz8 жыл бұрын
Films in spanish are translated in different kinds of Spanish. When it is for Latin America it is translated to Latin Spanish and even then it might be translated for different regions in Latin America. Then you also have just plain Spanish versions from Spain which is entirely different in its performing, sound and use of words.

I stopped watching trailers for movies I know im going to watch or I watch one trailer to see if I would like to watch it or not. trailers sometimes ruin surprises in the movies so I usually go blind and I tend to enjoy the movie more
