Probably not since Edwards' production was the most troubled out of the five new Star Wars movies. Lord and Miller were fired, but their production's issue was that they were going off-script and making a movie that was not aligning with the vision of the Kasdans. Edwards' production went completely off the rails and resulted in a cut of the film that was reportedly unwatchable. Tony Gilroy had to come in and reshoot significant portions of the movie, including most of the last-third, which is why the trailers feature many scenes that were not in the theatrical cut. Edwards' ability to handle a large production was pushed to its limits and the three Sequels, which were all larger productions than Rogue One, would have likely been too much for him to handle while delivering three movies in five years.

I don't know many that love this movie, I've spoken to people who are like "it was good...but". Personally I Iove it. Almost the best Star Wars for me, my number one being Revenge of the Sith (yep, for some reason ROTS really got to me). Rogue One didn't have flashy jedi fights, typical popular Star Wars stuff, but the plot, and characters, and the pace...it was perfection. The biggest thing for me was the significance of what was happening in the movie within the whole Skywalker saga...that was the best thing about it overall.

Setting the epicness of the most epic scene in cinematic history it retcons a major flaw in the OT: That DV was a stiff decrepit cripple who relied on the Choke, because that's about all he had left. The greatest fear in the Galaxy (With Palpatine hiding in the shadows until the end as is his MO) memetic Badass Bobba Fett is intimidated by him, and what did he have to back that up? Presence. He's an imposing figure, and ruled through Intimidation. We needed to be reminded of Why he is hands down the most feared person in the Galaxy. Also, he had every advantage in that fight. It was made for him, the corridor made it a cakewalk for him to parry every blaster bolt, and mow through them like the scythe he is. It's a melee, against a bunch of terrified irregulars with pistols in the dark, with no escape. It couldn't have ended any other way, but really, we needed that big splashy show of Force because in decades of hearing how powerful he was, we never actually got to see it. That has been a gross oversight from the beginning. Finally, Darth fucking Vader, lord of Sith lives up to his fearsome reputation. The only Sin here is we didn't have more of it before this.

What made Rogue One and this scene memorable was that it brought context to things we've heard for years in all other SW films, but never truly understood. They said many times that a lot of people died to obtain the Death Star plans.. Holy molly, Tarkin pulverized thousands of people, including his own! Then they said of how fearful Darth Vader was, and this scene proves it. You didn't need to see blood and body parts flying on the air, but the actors' fear told it all. Vader was unstoppable. It is so important to have a truly scary villain in a movie, otherwise the audience will not get involved. We didn't know any about these guys, but their fear got us all into the scene.

I'm aware of the issues with the automated copyright system on KZbin I just assume channels of this size have a way of excluding themselves from being searched by it.

THIS is a Star Wars Fan. THIS is a good Director. RYAN is not.

Rian is a good director, just not fit for Star Wars

Kislay Parashar, I agree, but he cares more about money than...anything else. Just see his interactions with Hamill.

LOL JJ Abrams ia worse than Ryan, freaking destroyed the saga

@@Xehanortheartless I'd give JJ a bit more leeway than Rian, it was clear that in TFA, JJ set up a few mysteries to be solved by the next directors, such as Snoke, Knights of Ren, that old guy at the start, Rey's parents etc. TFA wasn't horrible, wasn't exactly original, but not bad. Then Rian came and cannibalized JJ's plot, scrapping it entirely, and then it was revealed that former director for Ep 9 was sacked, so JJ had to fill in the shoes.
