I was thoroughly impressed with the cgi Tarkin. It did look just barely not quite "human" to me, but I think that was only because I knew it was fake going into this. My wife, on the other hand, not being as familiar with that character/actor, didn't even realize it wasn't a real person until I told her. I believe they did an excellent job, and the one guy in this review is right about this being a landmark in film history. It's like the cgi water creature from The Abyss and the T-1000 from Terminator 2. Any future discussion of "fake human" actors in cinema will be measured from this moment. I believe it's literally the first shot fired in a film-making revolution. Take a note, people.

I agree K-2SO was a breath of fresh air compared to R2 and C-3P0's stale humor (I mean stale at this point, they are still very enjoyable, And BB8 was overrated.) My favorite characters were between Jyn, K-2S0, and Admiral Raddus. Jyn was a more mature Ryn that has lived a life and isn't afraid to make her own judgements and carry them through with her own unique kind of ambition. She would have been number 1 if the boring, lame, shoe-horned, stereotypical romance at the end hadn't been added. K2 was a new kind of character we haven't seen in the Star Wars universe that takes the inspiration of C-3P0 and shows what he could have been if he had a gigantic pair of robot balls. Lastly, Raddus embodied the ambition for freedom that Lea would later on in the series. He showed what a great Star Wars general was like, similar to Obi-Wan whenever he lead a battle back in the Clone Wars. These are leaders who trust their soldiers and aren't afraid to take sacrifice in the name of their cause, but also know when the losing side can still live to fight another day. CGI never bothers me, because it will always be an issue. I appreciate the light that they showed Vader in before the possibility of his old self began to be realized again to himself. You could always see in the original trilogy the progression of how at some point, Darth Vader didn't want himself to win. So It became refreshing to see his old, cold self. Ruthless and taking pleasure in slaughter. That being said the end scene could have been shot better since Vader could have easily stopped the rebel vanguard from passing along that message. (Lol wrote this before the horror film comment.) I think though that Vader was never truly consumed by the Dark side, Save for a brief period at the end of Episode 3 that itself redeemed the entire movie, as me know from the events of The Force Unleashed. Although I don't know if that is canon anymore. Also at the end Vader could have easily stopped Lea's ship from escaping as we did see StarKiller bring down entire Star Destroyers using nothing but his force power and Anakin is supposed to be the most force-sensitive person in the galaxy. Again this is null if Force Unleashed is no longer canon. The third act was the most redeeming quality (arguably the only) of the entire film. Also I agree the facts about how the flaw in the death star was created basically completed A New Hope as a film, which from a story point of view is one of the most articulate and impressive and inspiring things I've ever heard of in cinema.
