They also shit in roads rivers and abandoned houses in the country that you’ve stopped at to change a tire and decided to explore because you needed to shit and take a blood ravens approach to places that you shouldn’t be. Sometimes the fact that you and the bear both came to that old house with trees growing out of it and a family’s lifetime of things strewn about by drunk teens years prior just to take a shit on a random pile of their clothes and financial records and equestrian trophies and framed family photos completely escapes you in the moment. Maybe because the bear is done shitting first and he charges you angry that you interreupted him mid dook. You hastily wipe your ass with the dads old work shirt and stop the bears advance with a well thrown high heeled shoe and scramble back out of the house and through the brush and bramble overtaking the yard of the house to your car which is now cooled off enough to take off leaving the bear in your dust. Sometimes the thought doesn’t hit you until years later as you comment on a KZbin lore video that you like the bear shit both in doors and the woods.

Abelard is what you get when you transpose Sam Vimes (of Discworld fame)'s action butler Willikins into the 40k setting. (And for those saying 'wait what Abelard seems a lot higher-ranking than just some butler' then you may have forgotten that the term typically refers to the most senior employee of a noble's personal household - a position which absolutely could come with significant management or overseer duties w/r/t the estates of the most important nobility. That description seems much more in keeping with Abelard's position of importance - an importance probably further enhanced by extreme seniority and experience in the role. It almost certainly doesn't hurt that he's unkillable by the majority of conventional means. The things I've seen that man tank...)

It's interesting to play a mixture of iconoclast and dogmatic. Dogmatic when it's appropriate and iconoclast when it makes sense to do so. Like... save people... but remember to not complete fold to everyone like a deck of cards. It's actually amusing what you can come away with. Like the Eldar enclave was like "let us run your colony and kick out your humans" and I was like "no. But you have my word that we will not fuck with you or exterminate you as long as we both play nice with each other. Compromise. We can work together if you can do that."

Hey fellas. If you’re on the fence about getting the DLC, I can tell you it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s integrated right into the main campaign seamlessly, the story and fights are great, and Kibellah is a fantastic addition to the roster. Pro tip: My preferred build for her is Executioner, which lets you apply damage over time effects multiple times in one hit, and focuses around amplifying those DoT effects. So you use Cassia to draw them all in, Argenta to light them all on fire, then come in with Kibellah and sweep out whole rooms in a single turn because her mobility is absolutely insane. Gain a ton of momentum from killing said enemies, then use the heroic action that doubles all DoT effects. Anything that doesn’t die to your attacks will get crazy DoT damage, and anything high health is gonna be melted by her.

Using this video as an opportunity to bitch and moan about the fact that Owlcat's Rogue Trader game didn't have any xeno companions besides a couple of Eldar. I still think its a massive missed opportunity to not have anything like a Kroot mercenary, a Blood-Axe kommando, a Sslyth who joins you after being betrayed by Deldar and a funni monke Jokaero who gives you cool overpowered equipment every now and again or even some cool adhumans like an Ogryn or a Ratling. I still think the spess mareen yiffer should have been replaced with a Ogryn instead. An Ogryn would have fit better into a Rogue Traders retinue without sticking out as an obvious Space Marine token character to remind people that its a 40K game. I'll stop whining now.

I think in terms of introducing alot of newcomers to the setting in a deep CRPG way Eldar and Dark Eldar are pretty good choices for Xenos companions, especially since Aeldari supposedly dont get that much in terms of good book writing and the Aeldari writing in RT is pretty great. Additionally I’m very much expecting Owlcat to make a Rouge Trader: Wrath of the Righteous-style sequel which Would be a good opportunity to round out the Xenos and Abhuman Races considering they got most major Xenos factions to be represented in some capacity in base RT.

Some people I know and myself were thinking about writing some shorts with rouge traders One of them would be the scourge of the xenos, bane of the gene stealers, scourge of pirates and the cleanser of the under hive. She would have had hundreds of worlds join the imperium, found serval cashes of lost technology and used her resources to improve the production, of rural worlds making backwaters far more profitable and more valuable for the imperium. This would be her public persona, A lot of these things are technically true, however they leave a lot of stuff out. One of the stories we were thinking of writing was about a solider who was trained by Cadaians he would be put in charge of the PDF on a hive world after the rouge trader, said that she would cleanse it of taint, and during the cleansing many good men and women died fighting genestealers, but the proxie for the imperial guard should stay firm, and remind everyone about the great victories of the rouge trader and how she was a genius Stagiest, insisting how the special forces would soon arrive, saying things like they are on par with space marines, and when they fighting the patriarch and everyone is dying left and right, the special forces arrive they cut down the bio forms, using poison and toxins, to render them immobile, these special forces, meet the PDF and the rouge traders other forces and take command, they are not as tall or bulky as how they imagined space marines, and they have sharp teeth, and are not wearing powered armour, instead showing off a lot of skin. The special forces were dark elder, and the rouge trader would use the forces that she owned to weaken targets to the dark elder could capture them and bring them back to the dark city, the reason she was so successful was that she was trading people to the dark elder in exchange for things like information on the location of archo tech and then using that to make a fuck ton of money, and keeping some herself. But as time went on normal humans were not enough. She started selling speciality products, like ogryns or Xenos, she even found worlds filled with the imperiums enemies and citizens and turned the battlefields into a game board for the dark elder using her influence to block any reinforcements. Most people would have their lives bettered by her, but a lot would be put through unimaginable torment, but in her mind it was worth it what was almost a billion lives for hundreds of worlds, and thanks to terraforming tech she even set up some worlds and forgot to tell the imperium, built them up and made sure the admech was not involved as these worlds tried to actually make scientific discoveries after all the emperor would forgive her if she played a massive role in restoring humanity to its heights during the dark age of technology even if she sold people to the dark elder.

My thoughts on the 2 melee characters are that Abalard is like a pit bull, you let him off the leash and tell him to kill something, he will be there until the thing is dead or until the entire enemy force has spent several full rounds to pry him off of their boss. Kibellah is like a one of those wacky inflatble arm fellas if you tapped knives to it and put it on top of a roomba, you can tell her a direction, she might meander and go from place to place but everything in the direction you pointed her in is going to be having a much worse day very soon.

Abelard is truly a force of nature. In my play through, when we were in Kiava Gama this fucking mad lad was able to kill one of the Demon Engines and the Chaos aligned fabricator general of the planet over the course of 1 turn.
