Thanks for the great explanation of the air pump, I hadn’t ever pulled one apart yet to see the internals. Thanks Joe and the Rogue Fab crew! 🙂👍

bravo ! this is the most in depth explanation video i have found on the operation of this style of jack , i found it very helpful in troubleshooting some issues with a set of x3 vevor 20 ton bottle jacks that were all low on oil !

Thanks for sharing your experience with these cylinders! Every bit of the video is helpful. I threw one out on my engine hoist a couple years ago. I would have rebuilt if I had known there were seal kits available. They are a mess though when you disassemble them.

I wish I could give you 10 thumbs up for this excellent lesson on how the air booster works. I am looking for a way to convert my manually operated hydraulic floor jack to an air/hydraulic jack. Unfortunately the starting price for air/hydraulic service jacks is above $1000. I don't bottle jacks because I can't get it in some places under my cars.

You answered my problem at the very end. I bought two of these to power a rotsserie and the air part never worked. I'll have to try tapping on it to free the ball bearings.

Great explanation of how they work, even better if you showed some close up pictures of the different components like the valve at the top of the plastic piston in the air pump like you did with the bypass groove.

I'm REALLY glad you carry the rebuild kits. One of the worst things to match to cylinders is those kits as they have no universal standards. So each manufacturer likes to reinvent the wheel. Just ask any heavy equipment mechanic.

So does the tubing bender come with the air pump and you supply your own ram?
@RogueFabrication7 күн бұрын
You can either purchase an air ram from us, or Harbor Freight, or Northern Tools, or you can upgrade to an electric/hydraulic system!

How to disassemble the piston on the rod?

Use a piece of tube in a vice, and the rod like a slide hammer. The piston pops right off.

I'm looking at the electric hydrologic ram and see it has 10-50 plug. Could it be built with a 14-50 plug? I don't have enough room in my powerbox for a third 200v service in the garage.

What brand of jack is that? I ordered a Vevor 8 ton that looks 100% identical to that. I haven't received it yet, but I found out after ordering that Vevor claims it won't work horizontally? Tia

Can you convert this to electric over hydraulic ….? For a budget
@RogueFabrication2 жыл бұрын
Anything is possible, but on these you would need a 10,000+ PSI pump. Not safe, nor cheap, and not easy. We sell 2 different electric hydraulic systems, a budget one and a high performance one. Both at RogueFab.com. We sell bare cylinders for DIYers as well. Add your home brew pump and valve and you're off to the races.
