Bend Quality 101: Die Profiles, Ratios, Diagnosis, and MORE

There's a lot of discussion out there about bend quality across different tube benders, so we wanted to make this video to help explain all of the different factors that contribute to the quality of your bend. Topics discussed include wall thickness ratios, die radius ratios (or D ratios for short), die profiles, and some of the different ways you can improve the bend quality on your Rogue Fab tubing bender. would a thin wall support die for your 6" radius die using 1.75" .120 wall DOM Steel make a noticeable difference in visual deformation? I'm getting roughly 7% currently

It makes a measurable improvement, but it is nothing like a mandrel. You're getting 7% and a mandrel on that application will be about 1%. I would estimate the thin wall roller to be closer to the 7 than the 1. If you want an exact number, e mail us and we can test it for you. Thank you for the comment/question. I just ran some 1.75" x .120 on a 6" Radius with the new TWR friction die. Deformation measured out at 5% -Collin
