I'm either doing this or I'm turning it into a two-wheel drive muscle truck

Great job wondered when someone would make a video like this, and you make all the steps a lot easier to understand than the forums version and the writeup in the magazine. Now I can reference your video when I do the swap to my 98 exp. xlt. What year f-150 are the leaf springs and shackles from? Also did you hook up the wiring for the on dash 4wd Hi-Low lights? How did you fix it? What about the speedometer how did you make that work? What kind of rim are you running?

I do not recall the exact year F150 but it was late 80s/early 90s 2WD F150 springs. You use the explorer main leaf and then the rest of the F150 pack. I did hookup the wiring, I can draw something up or do a short video on it if interested. Speedometer will depend on the year which I do not recall, but I can try to find it in my notes somewhere. The wheels are a 15x8 Vision 85 Soft 8 wheel with 31x10.5r15 yokohama MT

@@RogueMachines17 Yes I am looking forward to the video on hooking up the wiring and the drawings in PDF form would be great. I have been told that my 98 5.0 xlt runs the speedo off the rearend and that I don't need to worry about it, we will see when I finish with it.

@@RogueMachines17 Definitely make a short video displaying how you did that haha im going to be copying everything done. Now if you can make a video converting it to manual, then ill really be impressed ;)

@@RogueMachines17, I have another question, the bracket that holds the front of the gas tank, you cut the lower corner off and then bent the inside edge around for clearance, couldn't you just cut the lower corner and cut up the inside of the bracket leaving a 1/4 to 1/2 inch to keep it a solid piece (I tried to post a picture to show you but couldn't paste it anywhere)

Thanks for the video, I'm trying to get this done on my 5.0 now. Do you have a measurement on the rear driveshaft?

Awesome, wanna do that to my Mounty! How did it change the fuel economy? And the lift, how does it affect on-road handling?
@RogueMachines178 ай бұрын
I think it handles better. But I use that loosely because these don't handle good to start with. Probably picked up 1-2mpg but immediately lost to heavier larger tires

haha yes mine feels like a jackhammer smashing over bumps and yeah leaning into corners no way a freeway circle could be done over 40MPH. I was just thinking it may have made it like a 30MPH corners machine@@RogueMachines17

In my mind i know i have seen a modified shift lever(cut/bent/welded) to come out of the factory trans tunnel hole with 1st gen type console. Maybe it was a dream 😂
