Vai is using a technique called 'joint shifting' that he invented. It's when you bend 2 different strings at the same time usually in different directions. Even at 62 Vai is still innovating 🔥 Subbed

Steve Vai is a legend! To be completely blown away, check out Knapsack (he had shoulder surgery and composed a song for left hand only) or Teeth Of The Hydra (a triple necked guitar with a 12 string, 7 string, base and a harp that he plays all at once). Mind blowing talent.

Great reaction, my guy! My bottom floor fell out when I heard this and boy was I glad I was sitting down. This is some of the best music in history that is being released.

So nice you finally heard of Steve Vai. He's really something else. My favourite tracks with Steve Vai are his latest song Teeth of the Hydra, then Tender Surrender, For the Love of God (live G3), Building the Church (live G3), The Attitude Song (live G3), Answers (live G3), Wish You Were Here (live G3). This is such an amazing song. I think it will open up a door for so many guitarists and musicians out there, me included.

Whaaaat?!?! Dude who even are you?! 😂 Steve Vai is a total legend, he played in Whitesnake, Dave Lee Roth Band, Alcatrazz. You should check out his solo album "Passion & Warfare" from the 1900's it was WAY ahead of its time, dude's a genius. He also gave Devin Townsend his break by featuring him as the vocalist on one of his albums (& if you want to hear legendary, Devin Townsend has one of the greatest voices ever - EMG live performance of "Kingdom", check it).

Steve's story is amazing. Great documentary on KZbin of his career, so far. At the very least watch the 1984 movie "Crossroads" w/Ralph Macchio. Steve makes his movie premiere as the devils "head cutter" aka guitar duelist.

Yo, I really dug that metaphor you used at the end about Steve Vai being the plant that grew through the technical structure of Polyphia. Also, I heard someone else say that Steve Vai's part sounded like an alien singing, in the best way. I have to agree.

Check out Steve's new Album!!! The song "Little Pretty" is really fun and different, also has sick bass playing Saw him live a couple nights ago, and he was flawless!
