Because Aurora is girl-like rather than a mature woman, it is easy to miss the depth and spot-on philosophical truth of her lyrics. I'm 76 years old and have never seen anyone with such power and ability to effortlessly grab your gut. Tears always flow when I let her in.

All things in our universe are constantly in motion, occurring in rhythm, creating vibration, and resonating with other bodies in close proximity. Music is also rhythm and vibration, a sample of our natural origins, a deep connection with a cosmos that we don't even fully understand. But we are all children of this universe, we are connected to it, and it is a part of all of us. When observed through that lens, it becomes clear why we are so easily moved to emotion when a chorus of complimentary voices speaks to us in the language of the heavens.

Aurora seems to have this natural ability to communicate with her energy. It's like she feels the music through her whole being and it's impossible to not feel it yourself. I find her music incredibly healing, every song makes me cry in the best possible way. A few of my favorite uptempo performances are: Queendom (the music video is great) Churchyard (KEXP 2018) All is Soft Inside (also KEXP 2018) Cure for Me (her newest single that is just a freaking bop! Quite different than her usual but pairs really well with Queendom, message-wise) Aurora doesn't disappoint, looking forward to more!

For some of Aurora's songs, tears are about the only words to offer, imo. And I think it isn't even that she is not afraid to use her hands as she sings. It's more that she disappears completely into the song as she sings it, and the gestures just are what they are in the moment. As you watch more live performances, you will often see her shake herself out of a song when it's done. It's a visible shift from inward to outward.
