@@SingerDadReacts, I just wanted to stop for a moment and say that I really appreciate you and your reactions. You're in my top five of many I'm subscribed to. I've been subscribed to you for several months now. I appreciate the fact that you do your "homework" and research ahead of time, which makes your reactions that much more intelligent and insightful, unlike many others I see who are totally unprepared (but strangely "entertaining" anyway -- lol!). :D From your demeanor and the way you speak, you come across to me as a person who has values, strength of character, and integrity. I appreciate that, especially in a day when character is cast aside as something unnecessary! Anyway, just wanted to say a big "Thank You!" and may God shed His great blessings on you and yours in 2021 and beyond!

She writes all her songs. Played the piano at 5 or 6. Wrote and arranged 'Runaway' at 11. Her family is very artistic, with one of her sisters designing her quirky clothes that express her uniqueness. She has a friend in Oslo who she collaborates with and has done so for many years, but she mainly writes the songs and most of the arrangements. I was fortunate to see her live. And she's very funny and very happy to interact with her 'guests'. I was in her 'Universe/Domain/Queendom' that night, and it was magical. She's an extremely rare Sprite shinning brighter than a Supernova and just as quick, she's gone. She is not of this Earth, so we should nurture and protect her.

This is one of the best versions of this song. Im a almost 46 year old man, and yes i cry about this. So beautiful! Not only she, but also her co singers and the harp...

The M*rder song:5,4,3,2,1 always does it to me. It's a love story about a Norwegian elderly couple dealing with the fact the wife has terminal cancer. It's based on a real case and the husband sh*t her as she had begged him to end her life of pain. When I saw her live, and she sang this, everyone was crying as they knew the backstory. She's a very rarely seen Sprite who shines brighter than a Supernova and just as quick, she's gone. She's ethereal and not of this Earth.

When you were talking about how, as one becomes a teenager, and learns more about the darkness of the world, it’s something that very much relates to Aurora’s life. Because when she was 15, she had a very close friend die in the 2011 massacre. That’s certainly something that would very quickly (and traumatically) open your eyes to the darkness of the world. And holding on to that inner child after a traumatic experience is something very difficult to do, it requires a knowledge that you want to do that, and a real concerted effort. I feel personally like I lost my inner child as a child, never to return. And it’s been so long now, that I don’t remember the feeling at all. It’s something that I’ve lost. And that’s probably why this song hits me so hard.

There is no other song like Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1). There is no other performance like it either. It represents both an audio and visual experience. The voice tells you one thing and the hands, eyes, face and body tell you something else. She accounts with empathy to the one who takes her life but her body tells you the real feelings as her time passes. It is not for the weak.

Fellow Alaskans unite! I completely understand what you are saying it that it feels like another world. I grew up in a village of approximately 200 people, with about 100 children that took out classes out of order in the small village school, where grades were pooled together with each other. Reminds me of "The House on the Prairie" books. It irked me every time I visited the lower 48 states and they constantly asked me what it was like to live not in the United States. It took so much effort to convince them that AK and Hawaii ARE parts of the US. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but now as a grown up realize the unique beauty of my home town, which of course leads me to Aurora's "Take me home where I belong". Love your perspective.

Aurora is magical... I hope you do more of her. She has so many works to explore. :) Can I recommend her HAIK concert as it is a mixture of her tracks both older and newer... up to 2019? Nidarosdomen is a beautiful concert and showcases her young innocence... but it is also beautiful to watch her grow into herself in subsequent years. As her talent also grows. Beautiful reaction :)

Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being. She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely listening to different versions of the same song. Also, some of her videos are mini-masterpieces as well. A short list of original songs: Runaway - Nobel Peace Prize concert and her music video Through the Eyes of a Child - Nidarosdomen concert, my recommendation Live Stripped - VIVO UK Lift: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXfddquLg5aBbqs It Happened Quiet - Nidarosdomen concert, but I'd recommend the live at The Current version as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68 Churchyard - Live on KEXP Winter Bird - Nidarosdomen concert and her music video Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Nobel Peace Prize Concert Lucky - Nidarosdomen concert Little Boy in the Grass - Nidarosdomen concert The Seed - Music Video, HAIK Concert The River - Music video, Live in Bergen 2020 Exist For Love - Music video, Daydreamer She also does some awesome covers: Life on Mars - David Bowie Believer - Imagine Dragons God is a Woman - Ariana Grande Across the Universe - John Lennon Teardrop - Massive Attack

This song reminded me of the hundreds of times that I crept into the bedroom of any of my children's room and stood quietly two watch them sleep. It was their feet that made me tear up. The tiny beautiful feet now limp with sleep when just a few hours a go were chasing Farm animals or climbing the nearest tree and not to forget the precious mud-puddles dug and filled with water for them to jump in until their feet were unrecognizable. This song playing for me brought me back to the quiet of the night and their little feet so innocent and beautiful resting for another day. I was desperate to hold on to those moments knowing how quickly they would be gone. My heart spoke to me saying don't forget don't forget don't forget. Aurora's song made a perfect backdrop to those memories of my five daughters and now my precious grandchildren. The song and my memories sort of melded together to make it inevitable to feel tears on my cheeks.

Hi from snowy Finland ! I just " found" Aurora a few months ago. Aurora reminds me of my daughter who is about the same age, and I remember how sensitive she was as a child too. She wanted to paint with water colors each morning when she got out of her bed , and slowly sort of wake up to this world. It is hard to realize how fast they grow up , isn´t it. - I like a lot of Aurora´s song and the video " The Seed " . Maybe you´ll react to it someday. You have a very calm and nice way to make your reaction videos, thank you for that :)

I especially like the angle where she says "I would rather...." as if the darkness in the world is trying to convince her to harden her skin, her heart, her soul. But she rejects that injured reaction, she would rather CHOOSE to experience the world as tho everything is still precious and pure. Our perceptions and reactions drive our experience and reality. Also, if you watch a bunch of her live performances, you will see that she always has such a humble, gratitude reaction, and she interacts so graciously with her fans. She always gives attention and recognition to her band and performance partners as well. She's so pure and I love every bit of her!

So nice (and rare) to hear a knowledgeable reactor who does the required research on an artist's lyrics and explanations before analyzing a song. Aurora is a child of nature and her rootedness in that finds it's way into almost all her songs. I have long wondered about the reason for Aurora's use of her voice as an instrument without words (vocables?) and greatly appreciate your interpretation that in this case, at least, she does so to represent how children play with their voices. I can just envision her as a child doing so in the woods (in response to a bird perhaps).

I really like your analysis/interpretation of the song, I can tell that you know a lot about singing and especially performing, so to see you react to my favourite singer is just amazing. A lot of "voice coach/professional" reaction channels mostly just focus on the technical aspects of singing, and don't get me wrong she's absolutely amazing when it comes to that. But you also talk about the deeper feelings that this song portrays and include that with the technical aspects to paint the whole picture. It takes a good singer to judge another, but it takes a good soul to see the real beauty in them. I knew that you would love this song just by watching your Introduction.

Thank you, I knew you would love her. Glad someone gave you a list. I only know the ones I really like. I don't know her whole body of work like I do Angelina. One of my favorites of Aurora's is Murder Song, it has a very unusual perspective. One thing that was very different than Angelina is that she had stardom thrust at her and they really pushed too hard in the beginning in 2016 she had 65 concerts in one year many of them were festivals after that she averaged about 35 a year. It is funny I saw an interview in Jan. 2020 and she said she was going to take a break in 2020 a few months off, well then Covid and she got to take a long break. I am glad you wait until the end of the video, I don't like it when reactors stop it too soon. I like to see how the singer comes out of the song especially Aurora, sometimes it is like she is shocked to hear people clapping she is so far into the song. I still love Angelina hope you still do more of her also.

Murder Song is great! Love the Nobel Peace Prize live version. 2016 was a difficult year for her - she actually had 200 performances that year, she was sick a lot, and it ended with her having an appendectomy. Check out the interview here on KZbin called "Aurora on her bipolar sister and why we should all be excused", where she talks about that (among other things, such as her "death album", to be released posthumously).

Thank you for your sincere reaction. I suggest you listen to The Seed the live version in the forest (Haik concert) During the song she was up for a surprise when a male choir hidden among the audience took part in the song. The look on her face is priceless!

Thank you for this awesome analysis and reaction. I love watching people listen to her for the very first time and what they think. And even if I've listened to her a LOT I still find new things in her art. Listening to you I realized that the vocalization part of the song is in essence the pure emotion of what that inner child feels. And she is brilliant with word and evoking images but those part of pure sound go straight to your emotions. And she has these vocalization parts in a few of her songs and it's not something I've seen other artist do how she does it. Also at the very end a thought came to me. Up until now I always thought the "please don't leave me here" is directed at the mother figure she speaks of or to the older version of herself. That inner child not wanting to be abandoned. But I think it actually goes both ways. It's also a the cry of who she is now to her inner child, wanting to keep that part alive and with her not wanting to be abandoned in a mindset where she has lost the sense of wonder and warmth coming from the world around us. I look forward to seeing you react to more of her songs. I think my personal favourite is A Different kind of Human. And I think with Aurora it is a must to watch different performances of the same songs because she always puts a new twist on them making each performance unique.

Oh my God, just got a heart reaction from you on my past comment, how sweet and humble I find it! Just got caught by your explanations and conclusions, Aurora deserves that kind of compromise when it comes to any of her songs. I also would like you to react to Runaway, she wrote it at the age of eleven and is just a magical song! Love your content, thank you so much for this. Wish you all the best!

Thumbs up for the Norwegian intro and the research, makes for a good reaction! Mange takk! If you watch the Runaway music video, it was basically filmed in the backyard of her childhood home, and you can see the woods and the landscape where she grew up. She is the most creative and engaging artist I know, pure genius.

Aurora is a truly special songwriter and performer, and i believe she may actually be this world's best human being! She has literally changed this 42 year old's life for the better by teaching me a better way to look at this world. This song is so evocative to me. I don't think I've ever got through it without a tear in my eye. In fact, i start feeling a little anxious towards the end because i know in advance that when she sings "please don't leave me here," it breaks my heart just a little bit; Every time! You should react to 'lucky' at Nidarosdomen (same concert.) and 'It happened quiet' (HAIK concert.)

Awesome. I'm glad it was helpful. I meant what I said. We all need to know that things will get better and that we have a ton of potential and that we are loved. We just need people around us or connected to us that genuinely care and are there to lift us when we need it. The other reaction of mine that I recommend that you watch is So Hyang's "Everyone." Very touching performance that really hit home. Thanks for watching and may God bless you, friend.

Josh, given your comments concerning what you look to see in an artist's behaviour, there are a few things to do in respect to Aurora. Check out the following 1/ "Runaway"( which Aurora wrote when she was 11) from the Nobel Peace Prize concert when she was 19. 2/ A live performance of "Conqueror" (from the Jimmy Fallon talk show or the Honda Stage) to see her smile and dance with joyful abandon. 3/ "Daydreamer" from the HAIK concert filmed in the forest where she played in her childhood. 4/ Some of the clips of her talking to the audience at her gigs. 5/ Some of her interviews. Aurora is intelligent, wise, funny, cheeky, honest and quirky (at the press conference for the Nobel concert, where there were so many famous people, she took a pine cone with her to help her concentrate). If you can find the time to do these you will be richly rewarded. In "Daydreamer" she says "I know I'm just a girl but can I change lives?", if you ask her fans the answer of course is a most emphatic YES!

I sincerely believe that you should watch the HAWK documentary. You can react to it if you wish. It is 40 plus minutes. You will meet Aurora in a personal way that will show you what a special human she is. This will give you a much greater appreciation for her music and the mission she has accepted. She was taken on a road trip by a reporter for the station whom was sponsoring her concert. It is a wonderful trip which unbeknown to her ends in the woods where she grew up. You will love it.
