Where does it say +25mm offset is lowest you can go legally for the 300? Where does one obtain information like that? I’ve got some MT Deegan 38 rims in 17x9 with +15mm offset which I was planning to use on my 300 with flares. Can’t see how that wouldn’t work. Interesting choice re Maxxis. Nitto is far superior on road and off road in terms of handling and grip. I went from Nitto Trail Grapplers to Razrs and was absolutely shocked how bad they were. Changed back to Nittos immediately.

Under the assorted state govt VSI documents, the max legal track increase (without engineering) for a heavy duty 4WD is 50mm. The lowest factory offset wheel for the 300 is +50mm. So changing to +25mm gives a total 50mm track increase, which matches the max. +15s would not be legal without engineering approval. I'm currently on the CSR, and have done about 5,000km on dirt/sand on the Maxxis now, and have to say I'm very impressed. No real difference to the Nitto's performance, although I had the Ridge Grappler. Of the 5 cars in our convoy, 3 have Razr ATs, 1 has Razr MTs, and one has Toyos. All have performed very well.

Why not 17" wheels? I saw many 300 with them fitted.

There aren't many 17" wheels that fit on a 300 due to the size of the front brakes. And the ones that do have a very tight clearance between the front caliper and the inside of the wheel, which can lead to gravel/rocks getting trapped in there and damaging the wheel. So I preferred to go with the 18s.

@@austimages I could fit 17" on mine, you made me rethink my options. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Looks great Jamie! Q: Re vertical clearance, did you change the spare wheel to the 9” width, and with a lift, would you be considering impacts on ground clearance at the rear? Just wondering if you’d recommend replacing all 5 wheels in the less-likely chance you had to run the spare for a long run (say 500km) back to civilisation? Or keep the spare OEM? Cheers mate.

At this stage I still have the factory spare under there. The 33 would fit, but lower clearance. I’ll be fitting a long range tank and dual wheel carrier so will probably just wait till then before swapping spares over, unless I’m heading in a long trip.

Looks nice! Do you need hunb rings and special nuts for this Raid wheel? Or just reusing the factory nuts? Thanks.

The wheels come with hub rings and new nuts

Hi, I am taking delivery of my LC300 GR Sport in 2 weeks and want to change to more off road capable tires. What is the biggest size that can be put WITHOUT modification. I am unable to understand the tire size that you have put 33 x 12.5 R18 because here the tires are expressed differently such as BFG 265 65 r18 or BFG 285 60 r18. Thanks.

33x12.5R18 is an imperial size, but commonly available in a lot of brands. The roughly equivalent size in metric would be 305 60 R18. Depending on the wheel offset, you should be able to fit a 285 65 R18 without modification. You might get a little bit of rubbing on the front mudflaps.
