It works in a similar way to the long range tanks in the 200-series. It still uses the factory fuel gauge, however the first 1/3 of the gauge now represents the first 2/3 of the fuel, because the gauge still thinks the sub tank is 40L instead of 152L. The factory distance to empty display is not accurate until you get down to about 2/3 on the gauge (ie the 152L tank is empty). Unfortunately, there's no way to recalibrate the factory fuel system to compensate for the change.

No problems with it at all. The only downsides with the ARMAX vs VSPEC are the physical size, and the more involved installation (due to modding the airbox). If the larger size doesn't concern you, then I'd go for the ARMAX.

The filter in these is a mesh type. I was planning on changing it at the second oil change, but sold the car before I got there.

The kit gets the signal from the brake wire in the rear loom, and sends that back to the towpro.

@austimages ah i see ive honestly never looked into it and have seen so many 12 pin flat plugs i assumed the 2nd row was for signal etc. Looked up a wiring diagram now and i see the blue wire is the service brake wire that generates the signal for the caravan

Yes, that static video makes it look worse maybe due to the angle of the camera and the fact the plastic factory bumper is curved.

I used the Maxtrax wheel harness ( bit.ly/maxtrax-harness ), which is all ratchet straps. Not sure whether I like it or not. The ratchets got pretty jammed up with dust, and it gradually moved a little during the trip. I think I may change to one of the metal versions like this one: bit.ly/mm-maxtrax

No, I haven't had to re-adjust anything. Never had an issue with the parking sensors, but maybe with the jerry can holder being larger, it gets into their 'line of sight'?

@@AlexSwan I have UCAs now. They didn't have any in stock for the original install, but I went back and had them fitted about 6 months ago.

You just need to ensure you enter the correct calibration codes for each injector, in the correct location, as per the video. Nothing else is required.

For the Canning trip, I used a RAM mount double-sided taped to the back of the factory screen, placing an iPad MINI between the factory screen and the instrument cluster. It worked OK, but was just a temporary solution. I'm hoping to have the ability to display offroad maps on the factory screen, but the supplier is still working on some compatibility issues with the adaptor box. Will post a video once it's sorted, but not sure when that will be.

I had a 2022 LC300 with that noise, there is a factory fix that was done for the A pillars. Booked it in and they replaced some stuff and all fixed under warranty.

No, I haven't got any noticeable noise/whistling from the pillars.

I'm not 100% sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. There is a substantial loom of wires between the DVD player and the screen. You wouldn't think that would be required just for a video or audio signal.
