Having a proper video is very helpful. Thank you for spending the time to make this fine video.

@greghaff229, Thanks for the support. Thats why I make these videos in the first place because I couldn't find videos to help me so wanted to give others help with models they enjoy building along with me. Thanks again.

Awesome video, I'll definitely be using this as a tutorial when I get my hands on this. The wood stain also did a way better job than I would have expected, you were right not to paint it.

@reikerforge, thanks for the support. I know there are paints that probably would work with something like this, but the stain looks so much better. I appreciate you looking and if you have any questions, please let me know, thanks again.

Around 1:22:30, it shows your trigger stiff and not moving back forward on its own. Was this something that worked its way out as more parts were added or did you have to loosen any screws around the trigger? This is where I’m at now and I don’t want to continue if I will have to disassemble that part again. Thank you!

@kaleighc7330, thanks for the question. If you check the video at 2:58:55, I talk about the trigger and how the spring isn't strong enough to move the trigger back to the starting position. But I do believe it did become a little smoother, but I did not loosen any screws or do anything else to it. Hope that helps, thanks again.

In case it helps anyone, mine stopped firing in auto (would only shoot the rubber band on the bolt handle). I took the two long parts off the top of the gun to expose the sliding mechanism. I realized that a small part had come loose inside & the bolt handle was not engaging the chuck. I actually had to glue that part (it was I10). So, all in all it wasn’t too bad of a fix.

If you stick a rolled up piece of sand paper in the hole that the trigger pivots on it will loosen it up and move more easily, and then the trigger spring will be strong enough. I did it and it worked for me

Thanks for the visual aid, I put this one together with my kids yesterday after doing the corsac m60 and terminator m80 the day before. It will shoot rubber bands but not in rapid succession, just 1 at a time. It's not forceful enough to load the next rubber band.

@tiffanydawn34, thanks for the comment, just keep working with the bolt, use your hand to have it go forward and eventually it should loosen up. I believe I show that at the end. You could also spray some dry lube on either side where the wooden wheels are to help. Hope that helps, thanks again.

I have been looking for a prop Thompson machine gun for my 1934 Ford Model 40 coupe and came across this model on Amazon. I was thinking like you in terms of staining it to make it look more realistic. I think I will follow your lead but staining all of what would be metal parts black. Some of the reviews complain about missing wax, springs and other parts and issues with functionality but I'm not really concerned if it fires rubber bands or not. The drawing shows the gun measuring a little over 27 inches which is five to six inches shorter than the actual gun. That could be good or bad considering my intended use. I'm sill up in the air on buying it or not but your video is excellent. Thank you.

@eyeorewolf, thanks for the comment. Ever since I started staining or painting the wooden models, I will not stop doing that because it makes them look so much better and you can choose whatever color you want. I have completed a couple other wooden gun model videos on my channel if you want to check them out (Ak-47 and Sniper Rifle) to see how they look to hopefully help you decide on buying one or not. At least you'll have a video to help you through the build process, thanks for looking.

I'm struggling on the part at 1:13 the rod doesn't even remotely enter that piece of plastic, any clue?
@coopscreations2033
@coopscreations2033 3 ай бұрын
@nomecognome6713 Thanks for the question. I would look to see if that is the right width of rod for that step. I think I tried using a thicker rod the first time i tried and almost broke the plastic piece, then noticed a smaller one that worked better. If you dont see a smaller metal rod I would review any others you may have used previously to see if it might have been used accidently. Hope that helps, thanks again.

I had the same problem you had with the magazine spring. I took it apart and noticed that the spring was only wanting to compress at the top end. I took the A-9 parts and chamfered the spring facing edges of the spring channels. This creates more of a tunnel for the spring to dwell in and allows it to compress more evenly. Make sure the spring is lined up in the center of the track when you put it back together. My gun fires reliably with nine bands and slugs. Hope this helps.

@stevencasteel6799, thanks for the information. The first time I saw the design I knew there was too much space for the spring to compress evenly, so came up with what I thought would work. Appreciate the advice, thanks again.

Mine didn't come with wax, is there an alternative I may have laying around or would I just be better off buying some Bees Wax? Awesome video & I love the gun!
@coopscreations2033
@coopscreations2033 11 ай бұрын
@luiscampos3717, thanks for the question. The Bees Wax will last longer than anything else, but I have heard, never tried it, that Vaseline can work as well. I always keep all the wax from my kits just in case I need to get in a smaller spot, but I never had an issue with the Bees Wax brand. good luck.

I’m thinking about buying this one myself but wondering how much of a pain it was to assemble? Love How You used flat black instead of leaving it white wood. Looks Awesome 👍🏻 I would paint the shell cases Gold so they look like Brass

@garyburns1033 Thanks for the question. It actually wasnt too bad to build. Everything went together smoother than expected. But it all depends on if the pieces are cut out the way they should be. Also you have a nice tutorial video to help you along so you wont be going into blind. Good luck if you decide, thanks again.

Hi there, Mine isn’t firing the bolt handels keep getting stuck. Even if I press it with my hand it won’t come back to the original position. Do you have an idea how I can fix it
@coopscreations2033
@coopscreations2033 Жыл бұрын
@troygootzen118, thanks for the question. If the bolt won't come back at all, the instructions mentioned about checking the 2 screws you put in for the bolt catch to ensure they didn't stick out too far to catch the bolt spring (Time stamp 1:10:00). If that's not it, just keep trying to get it to fire, it took mine a few tries to finally get it to work back and forth, you may also spray some dry lube around the bolt wheels to get them to move a little easier. Hope that helps and good luck.

Never could get mine to work properly. Same thing happened to me with it constantly hanging up. I tried smoothing out all the internal firing mechanism. Sometime it works, other times it hangs up. Overall its pretty cool, my son likes it but its kinda been tossed to the side due to it not always working.

Just got my hands on one yesterday. I haven't even taken it out of the box. Did it come with the wax? Or do I have to but some?

Did it take 3 hours to build or longer?
@coopscreations2033
@coopscreations2033 Жыл бұрын
@leewang6686, thanks for the question. It did take longer than 3 hours as I had to find time on certain days to work on it, but actual build time when i did work on it was probably 4 to 5 hours. Usually the longest part is taking the pieces of the boards and sanding off the nubs. Since I decided to stain it that took at least 3 or 4 days to let everything dry before the build so all in all in took a total of about 2 weeks for everything. I know that was a lot, but hope that helps. Thanks again.

You have to use the sand paper and sand down the face and edges of the part of the trigger that’s inside the gun and brushes against the wood internally. Make sure to sand it down significantly.

Depends on the person. I enjoy putting together puzzles and models. This kit is both and I had just as much fun assembling this model as I do playing with the finished product. I also thought about paint or stain but did not due to time.
