The Alpha Juno 1 was my first synth and I loved it so much that I immediately bought an MKS-50, its rackmount equivalent, as well. The keyboard is long gone but I still have the rackmount!

4:14 sounds sick, I borrowed one of these keyboards from my friend for a few months one time, and thought it sounded pretty good, but this demo sounds totally awesome

Вот это звук! Аж мурашки по коже, звуки детства, жаль сейчас никто на них не исполняет композиции в старом стиле. That is the sound! Already goosebumps, the sounds of childhood, now no pity on them fails to comply with the composition in the old style.

Sometimes when I close my eyes, I no longer hear a Juno 1 but I hear a Roland Jupiter 8. Why is this???
@AnalogAudio17 жыл бұрын
because of good sound programming? ;-)
@evolutionarytheory7 жыл бұрын
gridsleep It's actually a completely different oscillator and filter. The Alpha Juno-1 uses 2 state-variable 12dB filters in series, and the Jupiter 8 uses a 4-pole cascade filter. The Alpha Juno-1 uses DCO's and the Jupiter 8 discrete VCO's. So there is literally no electrical similarity.
@lundsweden6 ай бұрын
They do sound different, yet I'd argue the AJ's still have that Roland sound, just a different flavor of it
@adamharris77755 жыл бұрын
In some probably 1985 and probably 1988 songs, the Oberheim DMX and Roland Alpha Juno-1 patch “Noise Shots” are heard and Simmons SDS 8 were heard.
@skyreadersociety61837 жыл бұрын
I can remember that chord memory preset Nr. 15 with the MKS-50 is unison, i.e 6 voices on one note without this hack (see manual p. 40). Not sure if this works with both keyboard versions (i.e Juno 1 and Juno 2)

Juno 1 and 2 has exact same sound? Or are different? I am planing to buy one of them, but somebody say it is the same, and others that are different, chorus are not the same.... So I want to ask it I know the big difference are in size and velocity/aftertouch
@AnalogAudio15 жыл бұрын
to my ears they sound identical
@robcarter65995 жыл бұрын
The difference is that the 2 had 5 octaves and was touch sensitive. The 1 was only 4 and not touch sensitive. It’s the same sound engine.

Nice demo :-) I m wondering if I could approach Juno 60 sounds by editing
@Bo-rv8om3 жыл бұрын
For some sounds yes, but the filter and chorus are quite different from the earlier Juno's imo.
@AnalogAudio12 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's true.
@mmrva9 жыл бұрын
Have you assign velocity parameters to VCA or VCF for use with midi or JU2?
@AnalogAudio19 жыл бұрын
mmrva yes, of course! It's important, since velocity is received through MIDI on both Alpha Juno 1 and 2.

Is it still possible to buy the sample pack?

This one or a Korg Poly800?
@gxlxn8 жыл бұрын
I have both and Juno is more solid synth. On the other hand, Poly 800 sounds more "intergalactic".
@EG-gt7te Жыл бұрын
Poly 800 is nothing but a plastic thing with thin and annoying DCOs and chorus. The filter is feeble from the factory, but moog slayer mod makes it a tad funkier. But this synth is still cheapo. Look for Poly-61 or DW-6000/8000, they sound way better.

@@AnalogAudio1 I find it hard to get the alpha 1 to have a deep sound on but not overwhelming when making patches. Your tones sound even though!
@jamesflowers8745 жыл бұрын
How do you access the custom patches? Do you NEED a computer attached to your system for the custom patches to work?
@AnalogAudio15 жыл бұрын
you load them into your synth via MIDI. You need a computer with MIDI interface. Exact instructions are included in the package.

@@AnalogAudio1 and JU2 has aftertouch (originally - whether it's still working in 2019 is another story)
@JobimSynthMusic5 жыл бұрын
what matters is that both have the same system and programmability, so you can program velocity and aftertouch parameters in Juno 1 and control the synth externally. that's how I do it. here's an example using only 1 patch kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJC2pZqNnsuJeck
