Roland DJ-202 Controller Firmware Update

This Roland Cloud Academy tutorial video of the Roland DJ-202 demonstrates how to update the firmware (system version 1.10) as well as an overview of new features.

AddTR-606/707 sounds to the TR-S:
· 707 Bass Drum / 606 Bass Drum
· 707 Snare Drum / 606 Snare Drum
· 707 Close Hi-hat / 606 Close Hi-hat

· 707 Low Tom / 606 Low Tom

Increases the KIT count from 8 to 12 with TR-606/707 sounds

for win10, the drivers automatically install. for win7/8 you'll have to download the driver and pretty much follow the instructions on the page www.roland.com/global/products/dj-202/downloads/

yeah bro i have faced same problem, if you are having a geek and it happends, first open the 4 decks, it it happens on deck 2, click on deck 4 , then deck 2 will continue to play

Question, I got my roland 202 in the beginning of 2020. Do I need to do this firmware update or no since i got it 2 years after this update was introduced (I really need the backspin feature)

Hey, i know I am way down the line, but I just got my controller a few days ago. I have done the firmware update and a factory reset and my controller is still glitched out. The sequencer is making the audio stutter on one note and becomes very annoying, it only comes through the master and not the cue. So, when I mix just in my headphones if only on cue I can hear the music but if I mix the cue and master I can still hear the glitching sequencer. Anything that can be done about that.?

a question friend something happened to me with my roland, I do not answer the play in the software happens a while and if after a while and no longer works but the play and I do not know what to do friend help me not even the serato pro and lite works me the same thing happens with the two software :(

Hello, sorry to ask you here, but Im having a terrible problem the left side suddenly stops playing, Im not even touching anything and it just stops playin, and it wont restart. I have to rebooth the whole laptop but then it happens again, what do I do ? Thanks

2.06 i dont get the roland disc logo on desktop .i done everything this video says to do. d/loaded the bin file.extract etc. and think its reset ileft it running with all the lights flashing. but it was takeing a longn time..and running windows 10..

Oldskool Tech you don’t need to do anything complicated like that. On windows 10 went you plug in the controller instead of it appearing on the desktop like in the video, it will appear on file explorer, under my pc

to use the driver. but this is not the driver, this is the firmware. you dont need to set the dj-202 to vendor or generic. update should take 2-3 minutes

I did this update yesterday and now I can no longer set cue points via the 202 controller, only in the serato software. I already contacted support and trying to resolve but in the meantime if anyone can help please do. I also did the check and the light patterns are the same except the sequencer start/stop flashes also. Thanks!

do a factory reset, and ensure that enable hot cue is checkboxed within your serato settings

@@tonycammie1269 you don't open the .bin file. you extract the .zip file. once you get the .bin file, you copy and paste (or click and drag) the file into your DJ-202 as seen above

Rene Moreno you just go in MY COMPUTER and you'll find it there. I think it appears on your desktop just if you're using Mac. I'm using win 7 and I found it in my computer (in the same way you acces an USB stick for example) hope this helps

Thanks. I tried that, but it's not showing up. Strangely, it shows up under manage devices in control panel, but not in my computer. It's probably an issue with windows 10.

I figured out how to solve my problem. After holding sync and plugging in the 202, I went to manage devices, clicked on hard disks, uninstalled roland from there and then followed the steps in the video.

if you're using serato dj pro, you have to activate it. otherwise, serato dj lite will recognize it

This is a defective product design. The master audio leaks into the headphones without the cue buttons being activated. I’ve tried 3 copies of this product. All brand new. They all have the same problem.

Ok so I'm a pretty shitty DJ or whatever, but between level 1 and 6 on the jog wheel response release setting. I'm not hearing any difference when I scratch. If any like real DJ's here can make a video showing them scratching with a setting of 1 and of 6 that would be great. I guess it only matters for turbo Q Bert like fools doing transform scratches? Anywho, I know nobody will actually make a video, but hey I still had to ask...
