We need more good MC-707 videos like these! Continue the great work!

Great video! I understand X-Mod and Partial mode much more now because of this. Keep up the amazing work!

Nice tutorial , this machine is sound designers dream in parts. Those hats really get a nice shuffle with a high eq boost. Def do more.

Wow this is so good! Thanks for sharing! Can you record the modulation amount? Or plock that? Maybe use an LFO to modulate amounts.

Great video, been waiting for a sound designer to test this machine out.Thank you.

Nice Technique. Remind me on the technique I used when I had the Doepfer MS404 analog synth. It has an external input so you can run external signals thru it. It also has really fast LFO and I run samples thru it and set the LFO to modulate ......I can't remember whether I modulate the Filter or the Volume but I modulate it with the fast LFO. and there was a 'sweet spot' at a specific LFO speed that introduce a a kind of ringing in the high frequency range.

Very good and very interesting. I have not looked much at this before but I am now much more interested in looking at it. Thanks again :)

Might just be me but is the ring mod structure pretty weak in mc707? I can’t seem to really get much out of it. There is no ratio parameter...I just end up waisting my time getting interesting ring sounds out of the zen core ringmod structure option.

cool! very informative, will you continue the series ?

Sorry, I sold the 707 as it lacked some simple sample editing features that Roland didn’t seem to be bothered about addressing. I have little patience for machines that have so much potential but are frustratingly under developed. Shame as it did have some cool features but I just ended up making boring loops.

Hey friend! One question.. What keys controller can I integrate with mc707? Can be novation launchkey mk3?

Nice vid Digga! Would have never thought of this. Got a slightly related question though. How did you change the length to 15.99 in step edit? I thought you could only make the length 4.99 for a step edited note unless you make a tie to the next note.
@TUBEDIGGA4 жыл бұрын
Not sure, maybe that’s with drum tracks? I’m using a tone track here.

How do you like the preset lofi effects?
@TUBEDIGGA4 жыл бұрын
Ranger Gun The only one I really use is the guitar amp simulator. I always find lo-fi effects to be too extreme and prefer to use either machines that are actually lo-fi or processes that sound authentic

How would you compare the MC 707 to the MPC live for someone who wants to start going dawless in their production?
@TUBEDIGGA4 жыл бұрын
Jake Wheeler The MC707 is very easy to create basic patterns quickly and do quick and fun stuff but to get the most out of it you have to go quite deep, particularly when programming the synth. However it isn’t easy to create a linear type song arrangement, its more of a pattern sequencer/groovebox. You’d have to do some clever programming to create ‘songs’ as such. Conversely, the MPC is overall much deeper in its feature set and is much more expansive and better at song creation. It’s a little less immediate at first unless you are familiar with how it works, but overall the more flexible of the two. It’s sampling capabilities are far superior than the 707s. Sonically the 707 is more interesting but requires processing (eq, effects etc), whereas the MPC is louder and more transparent from the start.
@jakewheeler90274 жыл бұрын
@@TUBEDIGGA thanks for the comparison. Do you think I couldn't go wrong with either one or is there one I should really get over the other?
@TUBEDIGGA4 жыл бұрын
You can’t compare them like that, it’s too simplistic. They are both samplers and sequencers but do things very differently. I’d buy one, try it, keep it immaculate and in as new condition and send it back if it doesn’t suit your way of working.

@TUBEDIGGA4 жыл бұрын
It's fine, you have to menu dive to get the best out of it like you do with any machine.

@Murada Song Mode among many other complaints. Very powerful unit with a steep learning curve. Too many holes for simple things left out like a count in to record option. You have to guess when to start recording ? It s almost like Roland has guys design stuff who never use it for practical purposes like HELLO writing songs WTF !
