I wish I was better at drumming though, I don't know enough past the simple stuff, but the Beatstep Pro has poly rhythms that I need to try out still. I like the XR-20 though too.

Metatron's Cube Same here but Since I bought the Korg Volca Kick in combination with two volca samples (with only selfmate samples of anything that makes sound) and a nord drum hooked on Grids things started to work out fine

Don't know if it's the samples you used, but i like the gritty character of the drums. Is it het tiny mixer giving it some warm overdriven overtones? Nice compact setup, hope you'll have lots of outdoor fun with it.

There has to be some type of coloring going on with the internal headphone amp I think. The reverb is adding the grit to the drums, it's not a TC Electronics pedal that's for sure.
