Ralf is such a good drummer, he makes every kit he plays sound awesome. As many mention, it's best to turn your bass drum beater around and use the plastic side on e-drums, which will save wear on the kick pad and beater both. I don't think you can touch the TD-17 kits in their comparative price ranges, and ordered a TD-17KVX myself. Hope to see it early next week. Thanks Drum-Tech for the great TD-17 demos!

Hey Rick, thank you very much! You don´t have to turn around your kick beater with the KD-9 or KD-10 kick pads, as they don´t have a "standard" mesh surface, that gets worn out by felt beaters. They have a specialized thicker material, that makes it possible to play the felt side without any problems. Kind regards!

Beginner question here....Ive noticed the default pad level was set to -3.4 db for most pads .....Is that how most of the pads are supposed to be set ? Not sure but the hi hats seem to be lacking or maybe I'm not hitting them accurately enough ?

So I tried to read through all the comments before asking but, are the rubber pads for the toms single or dual trigger? Reason i ask is, if i dont NEED bluetooth, and the toms are still dual trigger and i don't care about how "loud" the pad hits are, this can save me money! haha.

Hi! Yes it seems to be the same, I have no idea why we have the "KL" in europe and it´s called "KLS" in the US (?). The CY-8 cymbal pads are chokeable indeed! I would suggest to get a full mesh kit for better playability, while the TD-17 is the more advanced sound module :) depends on what is more important to you. Hey Enrico, yes you can! The module can play music directly from an sd card or you can connect any audio device with an audio cable. The regular TD-17 module also has bluetooth connectivity, which the TD-17L module that comes with the TD-17K-L kit does not have. Kind regards!

The TD-17 is the more advanced module, which has more features & functions all around (for setting up trigger parameters, editing sounds etc). Sound as such is a very subjective topic, but generally speaking the TD-17 will do a better job at basically anything (triggering/playability, sound flexibility etc). But in the end it is all up to personal taste! :) kind regards

I just got a td1 dmk and its really good but im gonna exchange it before my 30 days because the module just cannot be expanded. Cannot had any realistic cymbal like a cy13. The td17 module alone is the price of the upgrade from a td1dmk to a td17 kv so its a no brainer ;)

Hi Zac, what exactly do you mean? You mean how to get a bell sound from the CY-8 when connected to a TD-17 sound module? :) generally speaking, the module should give out bell sounds on the bow trigger zone, when hitting firmly. Since the CY-8 has no dedicated bell trigger zone, the bow zone processes high velocity strokes as bell sounds. Kind regards!

@@zacfarro8678 Hey Zac, I am not sure if this is really the case. Are you sure a CY-8 is not triggering bell sounds on the bow with high velocity on TD-17? I am currently not sure, it would make sense if it was the same way as with the TD-1 module :) Anyhow, a 3-zone cymbal like the CY-13R is a much more realistic option, but comes at a higher price unfortunately. In Poland there's a guy who makes electronic drums by himself (kind of acoustic convertion but veeeeery good). my set is kick 14, snare, 12, toms 10,10,12, every drum is a deep as a real snare and i have a 3zone ride and hh on a stand. unfortunatly i have it connected to td4 but with a module, total cost was about $1000 and it looks and feels incredible. Derek Frampton Pretty sure it's the same module all around, that's what I heard in other videos, but what changes is the kit itself. These cymbals are the CY8/CY5 models and the tom/snare pads are rubber and a smaller mesh model whereas the toms on the other toms are the 8" mesh and the snare is a 12" mesh model

Yamaha dtx532 which is the same price also has rubber pads, and alesis mesh pads are known not to last very long. It's not easy to find a durable all-mesh kit at this price (except the td1-dmk).

I love and hate Roland 'cause is the "apple" of the edrum, the real good products in 2018 are others: GEWA drum, pearl mimic pro, ATV. This is the same product submitted every year with unuseful changes.
