I used to work for Roland, and the secret is.. you CAN touch the surface of the head, 100% safe.. We used to do daily repair and cleaning on the sides and the surface of the print heads! We tell people do NOT touch of the surface of the head because we want you to spend some MONEY and send your Roland printer for repair.. that''s all!
@Westvillin0314 жыл бұрын
This is an absolute lie... customers get informed not to touch the underside of there heads due to the fact, that if they do it incorrectly they could damage the head and that can end up a costly affair.
@eyespy14153 жыл бұрын
People have no idea, and thats probably good. It's an easy way to sell them a new head and keep their old one, give it a quick clean at home and sell it as a near new one for $100 bucks less.. Instant profit for 10 minutes work and 20 mins max for a printhead alignment.
@Legend2272 жыл бұрын
@@Westvillin031 It isn't lie. Touching the bottom of the head won't destroy it.

Roland VP540i printing one color only. what should i do to solve it? i tried cleaning several times and head flashing but still not coming right.

Can you add the procedure of cleaning the bottom wiper blade. I know you remove the 2 allen screws, but don't remember where to go from there. I know it's simple but others might appreciate the knowledge as these wipers do wear out too. THANKS FOR THE KNOWLWDGE

Ey! Hermano una pregunta? El Plotter Roland SC - 54 5EX que he subido a mi canal de KZbin es el mismo que aparece en este vídeo? Si me respondieras te lo agradecería a ti o a cualquier persona que lea este comentario.

Eduardo, how do you install the cleanning scraper, the one the wipers clean from. Everytime a hold it, it gets of the place.
@lalo198519 жыл бұрын
JOSE ROJO Hi Jose, I've never had to replace that part yet, so I'm afraid I can't be of assistance. sorry.
@jrborquez9 жыл бұрын
you have to clean it each time you clean the wipers, is the one the wipers scrap each time it cleans the head.

una pregunta amigo como configuro la limpieza automatico en el panell del control
@lalo198517 жыл бұрын
Gracias.

Not a bad tutorial bud but u just a little misinformed. The caps "do not" have sensors inside them at all..... it is a full plastic part that allows for ink flow to the drain bottle when cleaning as well as capping your head to prevent it from drying out.... it is actually recommended that u put a little cleaning solution in the cap after cleaning them
@lalo198514 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your insight. I always assumed there was a sensor sitting at the top of the cap. There is a "wire" with a small "lenticular-looking" ring in the middle of both caps.

Hey Eduardo Felix, have you ever had any problems with discoloration from your printer? I have the same printer as you do and I keep having the issue of everything I print having a green tint. I have cleaned and cleaned and it still has the issue. Any ideas?
@lalo198519 жыл бұрын
Jessica Blackwell Hi Jessica. I've never had that problem before. Are you using OEM Inks?
@greenjellybean089 жыл бұрын
No, it's not OEM and I knew when the organization purchased the off-brand that there would be a risk in doing so, but I don't always have this problem. Every once in a while it will come up. And it seems to just fix itself. I think it's probably the case when the printer doesn't get used as much. Any idea how to go about resolving the issue? I'm running out of ideas.
@lalo198519 жыл бұрын
Jessica Blackwell I'm not sure what the problem could be. It sounds like it could be contamination in the ink tubes, but I'll be honest I've never dealt with this issue before. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
@greenjellybean089 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Felix I think you're right. I'm going to keep researching. Thank you SO much for responding though! Your video was great!!
@jrborquez9 жыл бұрын
Jessica Blackwell send photo so I can help you, it could be contaminated, you have to make a hard cleaning, how can you know? make a test print from the meny, and you will find out, if so, print but this is wrong, because you get green by mixing blue and yellow, and they are separated, I use a SP 540v. It could be the encoder strip, you can clean it with isopropyl alcohol.

You watch too many roland videos. If that's your idea of cleaning a head, sell your printer.
@lalo198513 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure I understand it, tho. Do you think it's a bad method of cleaning?
@eyespy14153 жыл бұрын
@@lalo19851 All you are cleaning when you did that, is the clamp plate that hold the head together. You are just doing a cosmetic clean and would not have helped your lack of black.The no black was a lack of ink and the cleaning process you performed with the printer resolves the black issue. Did you also clean the wiper to prevent the build up that is on them from transferring to the outer part of the head.
@lalo198513 жыл бұрын
@@eyespy1415 Gotcha. I agree. I was also skeptical about how cleaning the clamp plate would work, but it just did. I did this video back in 2014. I've always it cleaned the same way. I purchased this machine in 2012. 9 Years later, still same head, not once has a tech had to come out for any printing issues. This method always clears out banding or weak colors...strange but it just works, man!
@eyespy14153 жыл бұрын
@@lalo19851 Yep good for you..Techs charge way too much for what they do. I have owned 300,540 and jv3 printers for 20 years and have never called a tech.Think about how the wiper scraps across the heads, your sponge swab is no where near as violent as that
