I have the VR-09 but find that it lacks certain sounds that I want that are present in other Roland keyboards such as theJuno DS61 and even the older Juno Di. Can I load new Roland sounds into the VR-09 or is it a closed box? I really am considering the VR-730 but as mentioned the limited sounds is an issue for me, I would love to be able to load Fantom sounds of my choice into it such as a proper full pipe organ.

In theory, yes, via Roland’s “Axial” website. But there is only one expansion pack listed for the VR series. And it’s noted as a “limited time” offer 🙁

When the new OS is coming?. We need upgraded pianos and organs. Also, better fx section (specially drive and leslie, which could run independently of the second voice selected, only affecting organ). Finally, an app editor compatible with Windows. Thanks

Hi, what keyboard and tablet stand is used in this performance?

Just received mine, i hoped to use this as a hands on performance keyboard with minimum preprogramming but it seems that when I switch back and forth between sounds it resets everything (ie if I switch back and forth between piano section and organ, all of the FX and draw bars go back to preset amounts). Is there a way to around this other than saving my exact settings?

There's many variables here, some settings stay where you've left them, but other settings, e.g. MFX or delay will only be remembered by the patch or "Registration". The suggestion here is to save your favourite settings to the registrations.

Does it have an improved electric grand piano patch than on the VR-09, the “SA Piano” sound?
@roland_aus5 жыл бұрын
The VR-730 has a number of new patches that the VR-09 doesn't have. There's a full list available on the VR-730 product page. :)

It would be more of a temptation if it also included a microphone input and a vocoder.

Very good!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 what amplifier are you using and how do you equalize the sound?

This would have been better if all three sections could be layered together like in the Nord and Yamaha.. maybe on the next one? Maybe that's why its cheaper?

Greetings....... Hello Mark, man, why couldn't you say it's not set up for MIDI musicians.
@kiskadar694 жыл бұрын
As far as I know: 1.There is not a local control switch. 2.The drawbars are available via System Exclusive messages, so it is possible (but not easy) to address these through MIDI. 3.There is not a MIDI CC number assigned to control the leslie speed or on/off setting. This is available via System Exclusive messages. So it appears is pretty useless for any sequencing applications beyond old school GM. On the bright side, you can render out your backing tracks as MP3s.

Instant access for effects is great, but the effects on board are lackluster. Extremely limited parameters and cheap sounding. Huge disappointment in that area, especially for Roland-branded product.

Agree, still love the board but the fx seem to add a lo-fi aspect to everything, sometimes acceptable when used sparingly. The inclusion of a compressor was interesting.

Just another black plastic box 📦 The Vox Continental is a better option imo.

This instrument has glitches: pitch bend does not bend the pitch the first time you use it, that is whenever you change the patch you are playing, And you cannot change the register using MIDI, so forget about live performances using Set List Maker and such. Also, the organ drawbars move in steps, not smoothly, so fine adjustments to your tone cannot be made. Expect issues. And Roland support has not been forthcoming, they do respond but have no answers. Big disappointment. Yes it is cheaper than Nord electro-6 or Hammond SK1, but I returned it and paid the difference to get something reliable.
