Hey Roland! I'm new to fishing, and I'm wondering if you could make a video on some tips for beginner folks to get into the sport. For instance, types of rods, types of bait and tackle for bass fishing, and tips on good casting. It was awesome to see you guys pulling such big fish out of there.

Hey Roland, how long do you think Headwaters will last the pressure starts affecting it and the fish get harder to catch?
@MuahMan4 жыл бұрын
Like the Stick Marsh. Went from being full of 10 LB bass to nothing. Over-fished.

Is this different than the Stick Marsh. That place was AWESOME until the secret got out now it super over-fished.

I still catch plenty of monster bass on the Stick Marsh from late November through April mostly. Mainly in the south end of Farm 13........and a few other areas around the entire complex. I'm talking 6 lbs on up to double digit fish. Hurricanes are the biggest enemy here, they rip out all of the grass, such as hydrilla and eel grass. This scatters the baitfish and the bass, making them very difficult to locate, especially when the water is dirty. This new Headwaters lake is right next door to the Stick Marsh. It has tons of various vegetation all over the entire lake. A bass fisherman's paradise.
@MuahMan4 жыл бұрын
@@howabouthetruth2157 I always wondered why when I tried to fish the north end of the stick marsh back by the damn or spillway or whatever is back there. Looks like it should be full of bass but nothing back there. All down the south side.
@howabouthetruth21574 жыл бұрын
@@MuahMan I catch trophy bass all along the southern portion of Farm 13 ( up to 400 yds from the south shoreline in all those old stump fields laden with hydrilla & eel grass.....most of the trees & stumps are now laydowns on the bottom, but all that wood is still there & still a navigation hazard ), and once February rolls around, the northwest corner of the Stick Marsh starts getting big bass spawning. ( They spawn all the way from late December through April for the most part. As fish are done spawning, more bass move in to spawn, like a continuous conveyor belt. ) Another good area is that main canal just north of the boat ramps that runs east & west with a spillway at each end, and that huge area of flats running down on side of that same canal. Some days this canal is great, while other times not so much. These are the 3 main areas I fish the most. I catch them on many lure types as well as large wild shiners. With the new Headwaters lake now open, I believe it will take even more of the fishing pressure off of the Stick Marsh/Farm 13. A huge levy running north & south ( the east bank of Stick Marsh/Farm 13 ) is the only thing separating the Stick Marsh from Headwaters. I've been living in nearby Melbourne since 1969.
