Palomar is my favorite knot because I can actually remember how to tie it! The only downside is the amount of wasted line.

I just went through a whole lot of knot videos and I found yours to be the most helpful. Your comparison of not strengths was helpful and the addition of super glue makes sense. I sometimes use the uv knot sense as an alternative to super glue.Thank you

Braid lasts 20 times longer than mono. I run mono or braid to mono. I can take me faded braid off one reel while winding it onto another reel. New fresh line again. Takes nowhere the uv damage that mono and flouro does. But he's right when taken down to bare bones facts. He's the GOAT. Brought so much needed happiness into my child hood. Thanks man. You'll never know how much you helped me through my youth.

Roland, when I got the notification that you had a new video, I went right to it. I already knew how to tie all four knots, but I enjoy watching your videos so I had to watch, and I really enjoy watching them, even learned just how inexpensive mono was when compared to braid. Keep em coming please!

Great tutorial to have on mono knots. Having done most of my bass fishing in stained water I've been lucky to get away with using mono. Going to clear water which I've started doing some lately , I go to fluorocarbon. Thanks Roland!

Hey Roland how are you doing I’ve been watching your KZbin videos for about two weeks now I am a subscriber and I was wondering being that I am new to bait casting reel’s I was told monofilament will be easier for me to cast. So having said that I noticed on this video that you had a 14 pound bass pro Exceel Mono fishing line and was wondering if it would be a good Wait for me to use to start off let me know I would appreciate it

Which line last longest, on the shelf?
@warrendonaldson4144 Жыл бұрын
Sorry Roland... that's a Uni to Uni knot. A "Double Uni" is using a doubled over line (like starting a palomar) then using the doubled end to tie a regular Uni knot. You will end up with 3 tag ends to trim. Uni to Uni is still a great knot for braid to mono connection.
@jmodified3 жыл бұрын
Even when perfectly tied, an improved clinch knot can slip a bit on mono, and you can lose a fish if it is trimmed to close. Palomar will never slip.
@randygilbert1503 жыл бұрын
Great video. I use more mono than any other line. I’m not sure when I should use fluorocarbon and mono. I use braid for heavy cover here in PA.

Improved cinch knot breaks to easy. The trilene knot is almost the same and a lot stronger.
