Roland, I love how at about the 12 minute mark, right after you’ve caught a fish, and you’re talking about swirling fish, there’s a big swirl right behind you!! Did you see that? OOOOOHH SON! I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning. Staying till the end. Please keep the knowledge and content coming! Cheers!

Hey Roland, My name is Adam Powers. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer three years ago. In the time since I’ve really gotten addicted to fishing. I was lucky enough to be taken our for a private lesson one day with Edwin Evers and one day with Jacob Wheeler. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned watching your videos. They truly have taught me so much and are almost like meditation watching them. I just wanted to let you know how much you’ve helped me. Thank You Adam

Roland, you look healthy, sonnnnnnn! That bit about positivity is so true. If you haven't had a bite for an hour, you drop your rod tip, don't watch the line, start checking your phone with your bait in the water, etc. There's no reason to cast a line out without the intention of getting a bite!

So happy and thankful for you ,Jimmy Houston and AL Lindne....This world truly needs mentors like you guys!
@phillamoore15710 ай бұрын
Amen to that... Those are the forefathers of when fishing was about catching fish, as opposed to pushing buttons, or $25 baits. I remember when Al Linder did the demo of the very first weird, foreign, "doo-higgy", called a "trolling motor". What us old guys grew up with doesn't even remotely resemble what this industry is today, which now caters to people who can afford $100K bass boats, decked out with $25K worth of electronics, all so you can find a weed line, or patch of lilly pads, and cast a lure. Randy Blaukat just today posted a video on how it's destroying the industry, specifically the tournaments. And, we've all watched it unfold, in an incredibly predictable fashion, in slow motion over the decades.

Okay, I want to know your opinion. You've been bass fishing a long time and I would think you would know. My dad says the bass have short term memory and that you can catch the same fish multiple times even on the same bait, but I've heard from other people that fish remember and that is part of the reason why some of them get big because they're smarter. Please reply.

I grew up watching you on TV as a kid back home in St. Louis. I've been living in Maryland the last 30 years after graduating from college. And I'll be coming down to Lake Okeechobee to fish for large mouth bass for the first time in my life next month in April! It will be a childhood dream of mine come true! I'll be coming into Clewiston as well. So looking forward to it!!! Are you doing guided trips now? If not, who would you recommend?? Online, I've come across positive reviews for Mark Shepard, Marc Rogers, Dave Lauer, Mark Rose, and Rob Alphano so far. I'm looking to make a decision this week!

I'm having trouble figuring out if the fish are seeing my straight braid to hook when i'm worm fishing or texas rig , i only have 20 lb braid but thinking about tying a flouro leader but don't know much about flourocarbon , what should I do ? Is the braid preventing fish bites ? not fishing super clear water but average

For what it's worth, I like Roland in the jon boat or canoe. Pros with their fancy boats and $600 rods, are not as exciting to watch. Pull a 6lber. in a canoe, without a Lowrance, and now yer fishin'.

Roland love your videos...could you make a topwater of the old school ways on Chobee when they would use shiners up in the grass and a ballon??
@dadsduce4 жыл бұрын
Roland can you make a video that covers how to fish when you are trying to cover a lot of ground. Obviously the speed of retrieve and how you can feel the bite is much different when you are moving forward under trolling motor power or even fishing up current while moving forward with the trolling motor.

What is the best way to fish a bait ball of schooling finger length shad? You would think a fluke or paddle tail on a lightly weighted hook for bass lurking under the bait ball, but this hasn't worked for me yet.
