As a horse owner and rider (Australia) it is known worldwide that you never grab the reins of a horse while the rider is actively on the horse unless a) the rider has asked someone to hold or lead them by the reins or b) there's an event where the horse has reacted and a person at said event has to grab the reins to either stop the horse from reacting or to catch said horse by the reins. But, when a rider is on a horse, they're using the reins to communicate to their horse. If you then grab them, you can cause the horse to react to your unwanted and unknown "command" or "direction" and you put the riders safety at risk. Just don't do it. Also, don't approach from behind or towards the rump or flank of a horse. Always approach from the side, where their line of sight can see you. And always ask if you can go near or pat someone's horse. Easy.

@kristalpower2927 ай бұрын
Japan has always been cautious of foreigners because. And while yes it might be a good thing to crack down in these kinds of tourists. Although it could also be damaging to the people who live in that province. Loosing out on business because some entitled lady thinks it’s okay to disrespect someone like that is not okay. How do you go to a country like Japan ignore all the social etiquette.

@kristalpower2927 ай бұрын
@@dianewaynewood4477 she very will might not be however the ladies body language while she tries to quickly move away from the crazy camera lady makes me think she is. However seeing as the person putting a camera in a strangers face is from the United States. it’s probably a safe bet if she’s from LA or been there she had made the assumption the lady is a geisha (performer) who is there to be photographed. If the crazy camera lady really wanted to take a photo of a geisha she can hire one to pose In photos. Geisha’s are highly respected as where the first women to be able to support themselves as artists and fashion icons without having to be married. Your right to say she may not be but regardless this interaction helps me understand why some Australians dislike Americans especially tourists. The camera lady hasn’t read the room nor has she done any homework about visiting Japan. Respect is a large part of Japanese culture. Japanese people in Japan dislike foreigners because of ladies like this who are seeming incapable of the basic level of respect which is upheld across Japanese society. Sure it’s okay to take photos of city scenes that may contain other people. What most people may not know or are deliberately ignoring it is that it’s illegal in Japan to publish photos of people without their consent. There are no photo areas which means be respectful and put the camera away. The police can and will ask you to show them the images/film you have taken and ask you to explain your reasoning for taking a photo. They will also ask you if you have proof of the person in the image giving you consent to post the photo publicly. I still don’t understand how you can see the Japanese woman’s reaction and continue to take images. Even if you do not know all Japanese rules of etiquette or have done zero research before finding yourself in Japan. you should be able to see her level of discomfort in her face and body language and stop. IF I as a neurodivergent woman can see just how uncomfortable with the situation the Japanese lady then anyone should be able to sense it and leave her alone. It should not need to be policed.

Basically, returning buggies to the their lil buggy parks is a rule, but there are no tangible consequences to you if you don't, however there will be consequences for the workers and other patrons - so the test here is "Even when no ones watching, are you willing to do this small benign task, if you are physically able to, that benefits everyone but might slightly inconvenience you?" I'd be carrying him out of my apartment and people would just reach out to pet him, even as I was clearly trying to pull him out of the way. He's shy and they hadn't even introduced themselves to him. A more positive story was when a kid (their dad had just moved in) saw him and yes, she did run up to us excitedly - making a lot of noise - but then she asked if she could pet him, and I got to explain that she had to say hello first, asked if she knew how to introduce herself to a cat, and since she didn't, I then got to teach her. Both her younger sibling and dad came up right after, and they were all very polite and did their best to be respectful and kind. The first video makes me so sad, because tourists like this have caused some historic district in Kyoto that is the most important historic geisha district to be closed off from "foreigners", which as I understand extends to people who have lived in Japan for many years but are not ethnically Japanese. Gross tourists who act like they are in a rules-free theme park in other people's countries ruin opportunities for respectful people who could be treated to special experiences by people in other countries/areas. And then it's totally understandable that the local people in those places who open up their home-land to others would no longer want to extend that opportunity when they get enough people acting in ways that make locals uncomfortable!

I’d love to travel to Japan. From videos I’ve watched they have a great respect for tradition, culture and history while mixing in modern technology. There are still trades done in the traditional way because technology cannot maintain or improve the quality. I wonder if by the time I have the money to do it they’ll just ban all tourists. The lady with the camera explains a lot. Now I understand why Japanese people are not the most welcoming to foreigners including people who have been born and raised in Japan but might have a parent who is not Japanese. The camera lady definitely didn’t read the room. I think we need to return to the days of negatives and disposable cameras. Then people would really have to think about the photos they would take, there aren’t enough exposures to waste.

I've been to Japan a few times with my husband, and we always look up about tradition, manners, etc, and try our very best to carry these out whilst in Japan (or anywhere else) and I like to think we are polite and respectful and then you see things like this and it's unbelievable. People are seriously getting worse and worse. 😢

Leave them in the trolley until you get it back to the return area and walk children back to car? Here in Ireland we have trolley coins, so if you want your €1 or €2 coin back, you insert the chain to get coin back and then all trolleys are connected by chain. Charities then fund raise selling reusable €1 and €2 coins, so you don’t have to have change.

I worked at Lagoon, where the water ride is. You’re correct, the platform moves in a circle. The bags would be pushed off under the platform where people and the ride operator stands. There are literal signs that say you cannot leave anything on the platform. That specific theme park is a family owned place that allows 14 year olds to start working. Like, this adult is yelling at what are most likely children.

Karen gets her 4 kids out of the car to go get the trolley/cart and take it into the shop. Why can't she pack her groceries in the car, return the cart (there are usually stations around the car park so you don't have to go all the way back to the shop) with her children in tow, and then head back and put them in the car. Almost the same amount of energy it takes to go into the shop as going out. Also, you chose to have kids and you chose to bring them to the supermarket. I'm disabled and still always return trolleys or do things that may be hard or inconvenient to myself. But, this is common courtesy.
@EbyTheDragon7 ай бұрын
My mom took me and my two siblings with her to return the cart/trolley until we were old enough and chose to run it back ourselves. We'd fight over who got to put it away, and we'd usually be over the top and organize the cart return to make the employees' jobs easier. I've taught my son the same thing, and he's old enough he wants to do the cart return himself now too
@everogersdownunder12427 ай бұрын
@TheEnbyDragon exactly. My mum did the same thing. And most car parks have "trolley bays" that are out in the car park to make it easier to return them. So you park closer to a bay so you can quickly nip it there and still see your kids in the car or take them with you, etc. And we also had to take turns on who took the trolley back as well. It's teaching accountability to kids.

The raft itself used to also have a water tight pod in the center ring. So you could put your stuff in. You also get on and off at the same spot.
