@@v3ru586 "Role Playing" part doesnt have to include talking, its just some nonsense imposed by the GTA Online RP servers. Roleplaying originally means that you are playing as the role you choose, which is being an elven paladin, or an Hunter Orc. Just playing as those characters is "role playing". And it starts being cringy when you try to talk or text "in-character" because you are not that character, so its fake, and it shows(naturally, because you are not an actor, noone is). Depends on the Roleplayer and what they roleplay. A poor Mercenary/Adventurer might wear anything they pick up (looting can also be integrated into roleplay) unrelated to how it fits together /looks as that ragtag look is part of the role. Many "Gamemechanics" in general can be included into the Roleplay depending on the game. Nowdays most Online RPG Videogames have skins/transmogs so stats are unrelated to visuals. Been a while that i actively played MMORPGs but back in Vanilla WoW for example my RP Guild even went to Molten Core / AQ and cleared the whole raids while maintaining In Character talk, outplaying Character quriks (which made it quite more difficult) and so on. The story, characters, world design and gameplay should be very engrossing to keep player's attention level high even after spending many hours. Unfortunately not much games are able to do that. If you ever get sucked in to a few great stories in games, you'll likely be more inclined to give stories a chance in the future. Some games don't care about stories, but the ones that tell them well are often beautiful. No judgment, though; enough games are just about the action that it's easy to see how some people only play for that aspect of them.

Reminds me of some of the antics I used to get up to on Fallout 76. The day of the release, my entire server was full of guys who remade Gary from Vault 108. They used soundboards and followed others. Some time later, I used to come across BoS player patrols, but they were a bit too much like the FO4 types and hounded you if you had power armor. More recently I had a group of players come across the hidden entrance to my cottage’s cellar. Had used the butcher items to make it look like a cannibal had been busy down there. Lead to a long confrontation about them wanting to purge Appalachia of cannibals, that only got longer after I fled into the abandoned mineshaft and forbidden digsite shelters I had. Never had a gunfight in there prior to that day, but i’ll admit, it was fun. Ended after one of them got fancy with his nuke mines and explosive perks. He did stick around to help repair afterwards.

You've never played PvP'd at a high level if you think it isn't fun. Me and My old guild in WoW were 2.2k+ arena players in TBC. Got gladiator rank a few times. The intensity of high level matches can be stressful, yet immensely rewarding. But for straight up no stress fun, in TBC, we'd do things like go outside a dungeon entrance. About 5-10 of us. There was one particular entrance where people had no choice but to run past, as flying mounts was disabled in that area. So we'd camp there every day at peak times between around 5pm-10pm. We even had a smoke screen maintained at all times a little outside the dungeon entrance on the pathway. Using engineering flares, so that anybody riding past would have their entire screen filled with smoke. I could say that it was to ambush, but that would be a lie. Since we were using the old Ogre Suits you get from dire maul, so we towered above the flares lol. The hilarity of killing players going to their dungeon and being attacked by 5-10 giant ogres and killed with the screen filled with purple smoke flares was just too much fun. Even on their end, I imagine it must have been "wtf just happened/wtf is going on" type of moment. Anyway, every night we did this, so we killed many, many, many people going on the way to the dungeon. Several times sometimes, and we basically interfered with daily quests, since the dungeon was close to the daily quests where was an alleway that people could only get to via there. We did this for about a week or two before dozens of posts on the official server forums started to whine non stop about us. We just trolled them for fun. In the end, it resulted in a 20-40 man alliance raid at doing the same thing we did to us and taking control of that dungeon entrance. Eventually they got bored and stopped, but it was all fun while it happened. Some PvPers are truly arrogant. But you have that with elite PvE'rs as well. Others aren't, they just bait players in order to get a rise so they can kill them. Others do it as a tough love type approach to self improvement of playing the game. Like clicking for example. I look back on the hilarity of that more than I ever did any PvE content that I did. Don't get me wrong, there was some amazing fights and content as well. Nowadays as I'm older, I prefer doing PvE content in MMOs in modern games, as the fights are far more complex compared to back then. But there was a time when that PvPing was fun.
