Did you say that Rolex will provide the warranty once it’s been serviced by them? That’s awesome! Also, I know we should go to a dealer we trust but some of us don’t buy watches on a regular so don’t have these contacts handy. Anything is particular we should lookout for when slandering which dealer to buy from? You mentioned their expertise with the Rolex but I don’t know how to assess that.

It would be interesting to make a video with a respected watchmaker's opinion on Rolexes new 32.. movements. I read a lot of negative comments of all sort. Low amllitude, bad accuracy, hard to service etc.. Not sure if I wrote it already in past comments if not just wanted to mention, that I am glad that you are back.

Excellent video and very sound advice. The only reason to go to an AD is to buy a brand new watch. Going to the AD for a used watch defeats that purpose. The main reason Rolex has the Certificated Pre-Owned Program is to control the secondary market. I just hope that anyone who sold their watches back to Rolex got an insanely good price.

It seems to me that the prices that Rolex sets, no matter how much the watches are certified, are exaggerated. I remember when you released the video of the Tudor BB GMT, which I had bought on my ID a month before and three and a half years later, I like it as much as the day I went to pick it up. I have seen that video more than 20 times, I love it. Many thanks and already waiting for the next one.

Yellow gold is my favorite metal. I wear yellow gold jewelry. However, I can’t foresee myself ever wearing a full solid gold watch in public. Two-tone has the metal I love in small enough amounts to please my eyes while not being over the top. ‘Bimetal’ or twotone watches may be so 90s and prior, yet for me, it never went out of style.

Is it important to have the box and papers when buying a preowned rolex? I know it adds some value but how much exactly?

It can add 15-20% easy, especially for Rolex and higher end watches like Patek, if you don’t care about it and plan to keep the watch forever then you can pay less for a watch without it.

"Massive convenience fee" is a good way to describe it. Rolex wanted to try and control the pre-owned market while things were hot, but now that the market is down (and has been down for awhile), buyers just can't see the value in paying extra for Rolex Certified Pre Owned.

With all due respect, the people Rolex is targeting with their CPO program are not people watching this video. These are wealthy people who couldn’t care any less about the pre-owned market at large and just want to buy one good watch directly from Rolex. And from a market standpoint, this was a brilliant thing for Rolex to do as a long term strategy to control the value of their brand.

I think the biggest issue with the pre-owned certified program is that you don't get the original box and papers with your watch. No full-set. selling that later will be very difficult. Collectors want original papers and documents with a watch.

The Root Beer GMT is a grail, not sure why people don't like two tone! All valid, going secondary or wait it out at an AD. The certified pre-owned is non-sense

I would never buy a watch from Ebay. I have been fleeced a few times on Ebay buying clothes that were counterfeit, I’m sure Ebay is loaded with clones and superclones. I have 4 Rolexes all bought from an AD who was recently decommissioned and I’m paranoid that they may have sold me a Superclone at some point. Since I’m not a watchmaker, I will be unable to tell. Even if I open the caseback, I wouldn’t be to tell fake rotors or mainsprings and such.
