In so many ways this is an exceptional film. Great details like some comments, design of the title screens and the good taste of background sounds. This film makes you feel the flyfishing emotions, like wondering if there is fish in the stream, wondering how to catch a fish you see, catching a fish, feeling insecure about your approach, solving the puzzle and so on. A film worth watching twice to see and learn more. Thanks a lot!
@elisjournal44354 жыл бұрын
Absolutely Jos! He does such a good job of highlighting one of the greatest joys of fly fishing; the puzzle-solving. I am working on highlighting that in my own future videos, and this is a great example of how to do it!

I live within a few minutes of the Test, and its fishing is pure bliss. I've fished northern Sweden too, and found the blood loss to mosquitoes, with their incessant buzzing in my ears, just too much to be pleasurable. I guess I'm a wimp. Anyway, this film was a great pleasure to view, and it catches the obsession that fishing can be. Thank goodness, that overwhelming obsession has dwindled just a little in me, so sleep comes more easily.

thank you kind fellows. as the snow piles outside my window, and the holiday intertia comes to an end, my last day before returning to the labour finds me enjoying your adventures. im dreaming of the end of spring run off, the calming of my mountain stream, and the snap of a rising cut throat to a royal coachman floating rapidly along its surface. these celluloid moments quell the yearning just enough to manage a few more months of old man winter. if ever you find yourself in british columbia, find me on the stream and i will show you wild creeks.

Yes! Finally, after stumbling through all the click bait and sponsored miasma, a wonderful film about a Vicking ? With the help of a Rastafarian rod builder, storming the castle, but in a very respectful way by someone obviously in love with the art. Great film making regardless of the subject matter which brings interest regardless of the viewer’s knowledge of dry fly fishing. Instead of view count pushing mostly junk to the top, there ought to be an art and film council making recommendations because then we may be able to find content like this without wading through the muck.

Lovely seeing you guys fishing on the Test. The river made the national news in the UK last month because the water company wanted to dump raw sewage into it rather than having to pay to process it which they are paid to do. There was a national out cry and the water company changed their mind... Unbelievable that company executives believe dump raw sewage in a precious ecosystem is a good idea.

Absolutely love it. Thanks Rolf. I'm so glad someone is highlighting the un-naturalness of the antiquated English chalk steam fishing. Stocked fish, man made environs - it's fun, no doubt about it, but it doesn't feel the same as hiking in to somewhere untouched, tuning in with the world around you and only then catching fully wild fish.
@nedreiter38693 жыл бұрын
Well chalkstream fishing is changing. I have fished them for nearly 30 years now, and although some are still stocked (often the most expensive, highly managed beats), the club I am a member of (and which is by no means exclusive) have moved towards a policy of not stocking but instead enhancing wild fish populations, improving the rivers for wildlife and supporting biodiversity. i love wilderness fishing, but chalk streams have their own charm. Don't be too ready to dismiss them as antiquated.
