ROLI Seaboard RISE - Does it stand the test of time ? will it last ?

Have had my ROLI Seaboard Rise 49 since new for 7 years now and with the recent release of the RISE 2 thought I'd give an honest review on how it's held up over all this time :-)

Are these still being produced? Didn't they fully switch to the smaller ones? I had the privilege on trying one at a friend's house, wonderful keyboard. So who knows one day... One day...!

@@catsystemcorp They relaunched it about 18 months ago with the ‘Rise 2’ - pretty much the same with a few very minor changes.

What a great man-cave. Once I've squeezed in between the ModX and the "Seaboard" desk, that's me sorted for the rest of the day. The Seaboard has been on my radar for a while so I'm going to review your other vids on this. Your earlier vids on midi connectivity were an education. I had to chuckle when you said about hair-wax on the keyboard. I'm not that far behind you. :)

😂Yeah, realised after I'd filmed it I'd forgotten about the 'hairwax' reference. Had a bit of an accident with the clippers and now I look like Moby ! (it's growing back, but tbh there's not much to grow back 🤣

I was thinking about buying a seaboard rise but I was worried about the longevity of the keyboard, this helped out a lot. Thanks!

Mine Rise 49 started triggering a ghost note (middle C) recently. There is a hardware issue with Rise 49 which has two sensor boards adapted from Rise 25. Some units have issues with ghost notes at the junction of the boards. ROLI claims to fix this issue with Rise 2.

I also had one unit replaced due to unresponsive XY-pad...
