Roller Coaster Riders Stuck Upside Down for Nearly 4 Hours

A day at Wisconsin’s Forest County festival turned terrifying when a ride trapped people upside down for nearly four hours. The passengers were stranded when the ride named Fireball stopped midair. The ride is supposed to strap riders in and go upside down in a giant circle but that came to an abrupt halt after a mechanical malfunction. It took first responders nearly two hours to start getting people off the ride. The last rider was finally brought to safety four hours after the ordeal began.

It’s the same story as aircraft, checks could have been done just days beforehand but the checks weren’t done to to currently applied standards, which leads to catastrophe. My money is on this being the same circumstance, the ride was not checked to the correct standard

Same, I remember one time, as a kid, my brother and I got stuck at the top of a farris wheel and I thought we'd be up there for the rest of our lives, lol. But we were able to get off after about an hour. I can't even imagine being stuck upside down for four hours. If you have a fear of roller coasters don’t worry. Let’s keep Im mind that technically this is not a roller coaster it’s a flat ride. And this is not an amusement park it’s a fair. A real roller coaster goes through many sessions of testing everyday before the park opens. You can not compare this to a park like cedar point or six flags, it’s a fair ride of course it broke down

This happened at the bloomsburg pa fair one year I wasn't on the ride but it was terrifying just seeing those people stuck up there. Someone's jacket fell at one point and I thought it was someone falling out. Just for clarification, this is NOT a roller coaster, but rather, a thrill ride. Regardless, I am hypothesizing the cause of the stall was due to one or more of the wheels that gave way, and consequently got jammed at an angle on the track. This Larson Loop will no doubt be inspected for mechanical failure, and possible structural deficiencies.

This is something that i think had happened multiple times on this type of ride, i rode it at frontier city (a theme park in oklahoma city) and it is pretty thrilling, but yes this is probably something that has happened multiple times on the larson loop.

I got stuck on a log flume ride once when I was a kid. We just hopped out of the log and walked back to the ride entrance and told them what was going on. The worst part was the stairs to get off the flume were made of wood and there was water dripping on them, I slipped and wrenched my arms holding onto the railings, it could have been way worse. That little girl who said take care of the older man first, she was sure raised right.

You can’t get stuck upside down on a rollercoaster. Gravity will either take you forward or backwards and you would valley. Plus don’t ever get in a car again because you’re a million times fore likely to get hurt in a car.

@@LordRayken As unlikely as it is to occur, a rollercoaster would only need a slight push to fix. It certainly wouldn't take over 2 hours.

Yup that was my fear as a kid. Beacuse this happened in cedar point. I remember I watch it on TV and people had time get helicopters to get them down. My brother said they were stuck hours before they got rescued. Thankfully he wasn't on the ride but explained what happened. And I remember telling him this is why I don't want to go on a coaster that goes upside-down. I remember growing up and people asked me why I won't go on a coaster with them. I said to them because that one goes into a loop and upon. I need one that doesn't go upside-down.
