I went roller skating this weekend and it was my first time. Dancing is a fear of mine but when I saw people dancing while skating they seemed so free and I was just having a great time strolling around looking like a complete noob but it definitely made me happy. Just being there with all the people having a great time, music bumping. It makes me want to get my own skates and just keep going as my way of stress relief because I just felt like the rest of the world melted away.

As crazy as you are dirty. Bought my first side by side a couple of days ago as my 79th birthday present. Been playing hockey in university team in my 20ths. And practicly not been skating since. But started skating again this winter. Have a lake behind my house i middle Sweden, so I,ve been there every 2d day. Now I have a big room with hard floor, so today I took all furnitures away so I got a indoor skating rink to practise roller and blades. Love your instructions!

Hey DDH. Another corker! I've been skating in the UK for almost two years now. Started off taking the kids (2&5 at the time), you've always had a vid to help us all progress at our own rates. Youve taught me to transition, skate backwards, spin and enabled me to get both kids forwards and backwards. There's only two dance skaters at my local, so not much exposure....looking forward to joining in with this and the Downtown over the coming weeks. Thanks so much, keep up the Stirling work!

You’re literally the reason I can now skate, good enough to learn backwards skating. I always have the urge to dance while I’m skating but I don’t know any moves so I decided to learn some. A lot of the moves require me to remove my toe stop but it’s so scary feeling without it!! I feel like a beginner skater again, you know, with the stiff, straight legs, and stumbling 😩😫 I haven’t stumbled since last year but I don’t get why I feel so scared all of a sudden after removing my toe stop

People all my life told me I should be in California and I could not agree more. Where people are normal! I love amusement park rides, the beach, rollerskating, inline skating, skateboarding, walking on sidewalks outside in the sun I will be doing this with you after I finish ashatanga yoga, which is helping my cannon balls for shooting the duck a bunch. But you know what, I am not even up to these steps yet. I cannot yet hit the notes when on my skates. And i had to work and work at this in dancing-period. I am sure all dance teachers had parents bring their little ones to ballet, and was told I put her in dancing because when the music is on she moves to the music. I never once told them ballet suppresses that natural impulse to move to the beat of the music and they have to go through all this boring stuff first. but there are ways to make it fun. I always have the hardest time explaining the goal is to feel the music move (the dancer). Doing moxiskatedaily, and the last time I did a dance video I was finally feeling the music move me. Now! once i get some rhythm on my rollerskates, i can practice your steps, but I will be doing this after yoga.

Cannot wait for the rest of the series! Could you do one foot crab walk tutorial? Hey Debra, my name is Rob. Way back when I was really in to skating in the mid 60’s, we use to skate couples for dance steps. We also use to do what we called bouncing to the rhythm music in trio’s or skating alone. Do you have any videos with couples skating dance steps on skates?

It's so fun with a partner. My daughter skates with me and it is really fun to make up moves. She is almost forty and I am seventy and I always hoped that she would get her husband to take my place as I am not going to be able to do this forever. But, her husband isn't interested. Who knows, maybe my grandson will take up the mantle. For now though, it's her and I.
