Rollerblading filmed and edited by Greg Stump before we copied skateboardings homework. Very important history. Thank you for uploading!

I remember that wacky face from Adam Johnson using some of this footage for “generic tour video“ but I didn’t realize it was actually Greg Stump talking on the video(in addition to other Talking Heads)...

My uncle got me into rollerblading in the 90s... Except we couldn't afford real rollerblades so we bought knock off rollerblades called roller derby that came with abec5 bearings and neon green clear wheels. They looked so dope... But within a few years the shell dry rotted and shattered like an Easter bunny chocolate shell from just squeezing it. Today I'm on twister 3wds...

Honestly Roller derby was pretty decent. I started on variflex blades myself!

Rollerblades hit the market in about 84/85 but distribution was pretty spotty…. You could only get them in ski shops for the most part. from 1986 on they were more widely available, and the minute they had nationwide distribution, imitators popped for sure. By 1988 you probably had ultra wheels, Seneca and Variflex to name a few.

Jill Schulz is now married.. she goes by Jill Transki and is responsible for the “All wheel sports” show at Knott’s berry farm amusement Park. Bruce AJ Jackson has recently founded a smart clothing tech company. Pat Parnell has had a lot of tv hosting/espn gigs over the years.

@flyingonblades3 жыл бұрын
It’s all good; we know he was being a chill fun dude. No racial undertones, just a guy who imagines himself as a literal monkey. Common sense was actually common back then so people just assumed what he meant. Kinda reminds me is the movie “Step Brothers” where the Father/Step-Father use to imagine that he was a dinosaur 😂
