This video format is awesome. I love hearing everyone's opinions. We are a small enough community to recognize that many of us are affected by bias, but hearing everyone make their arguments definitely expanded my view on what aspects we should consider for "section of the year". More please 😄

Billy's especially was great with the frankness. And yes, way too many ridiculous and diverse sections for a clear winner. 👍

Maybe this is recency bias, but I think the Broskow Express section takes it. Yes it’s short, and yes it’s a novelty song, but he’s gotten to a level of precision/control that’s pretty much beyond everyone else, ever. It is also one of the more “fun” Broskow edits, for whatever that’s worth🤷.
@wheelsceneblading7 күн бұрын
@@17BKS I disagree. I don’t think that was even close to one of his strongest sections in the last five years. Seconds, Alex and Plus One was far better.
@17BKS7 күн бұрын
@ I don’t doubt he’s had stronger pieces, but I don’t think I’ve watched any of those back more than once or twice. This one isn’t better, per se, but I find it more rewatchable. Maybe that speaks to my short attention span, or maybe to the power of this dumb song, I don’t know. He just has some tricks in this (mainly the late 180) that he does absolutely perfectly. The Lomax Hang ‘Em Up section, I watched that a bunch too, and a lot of that (on top of the skating, obviously) is the pacing/music I’d say.
@almostremembered6 күн бұрын
It didn't feel like a true section. I'm not sure it even was? Wasn't it just a ton of Broskow in a montage video? Either way, obviously Broskow is amazing, but it didn't read like a section to me.
@17BKS5 күн бұрын
@ ya more a collection of clips than a section maybe…my barometer for how I assess a video, I guess, is did I watch it again? And ya that video (specifically the late 180 and the front torque), I watched it back many times. Kooks was great, obviously, the Bodega Boys video was very good, all the stuff SK and Cameron Talbott did was top notch, but I haven’t rewatched any of those yet. It’s not altogether an attention span thing but also a feeling thing, as Devotion (Top 3 section ever IMHO) is like 17 minutes and I’ve watched that a ton as well.

I'm Brazilian and I think there are two different paths to follow within Aggressive skating, but the risk involved in the sections makes me decide that: 1st Cameron Talbot 2nd Sean Kelso 3rd Michael Witzemann I leave Michael in 3rd due to the volume of material presented by Sean (I believe if he selects the 10 best of each, Sean will win), but Witzemann has the quality to win some year if he is really determined to do so, because I see that it combines a little of the best of both worlds.... ...This thing about "looking" at a place and seeing the possibility of playing there also makes me inclined towards this decision!

I would be so grateful if u cud tell me what happened to the huge tricks, the huge gaps the hammers? Honestly? I started skating in the 90s to 2006. Now I'm back trying to enjoy it once again. I was no pro. But all I did was staircases and huge air and anything that cud get me airborne. And that's what I am returning to. I started last year and this coming year I really need to bang it. Nothing is better then flying off a stair case going backwards..switch. I used snowboard terms often. That's my winter gig. But landing a huge air in a 180 is hands down pure freedom. So what happened? Yes I'm not in the cliq I don't know Alot about the changes but we need air. Grinds are just getting done. It's hard to watch all these great videos and talent but on repeat. We flip out but it's kinda on repeat..can we bring back the staircases the hang time the real impressive stuff that when we see it ur like damn that's hot with our jaws down. Am I the only one who sees this repeat and the same thing just different variances? I mean no disrespect..their just my feelings. The 90s went balls out. They tried to grind too with lack of better gear . But everyone loves air. Look at the NBA and motocross, snowboarding , skiing etc etc etc. balance. That wud set the game on fire . A bit of everything!!!

@@Hayyothhakodesh did you watch any of the sections mentioned in this video?
@Hayyothhakodesh7 күн бұрын
@wheelsceneblading I watched ur whole video. I saw one guy do some gaps i loved. In no way do I want to be ignorant or say unenlightened things. I watch sooo many skate videos and reviews and many things skate wise. I guess it just seems hammers are a very on life support concept. It's all about rails and grinds and stuff etc.. u know whats out there probably better than me. But I'm 45 and I see some interesting tricks in many different settings. I'm just not seeing the air. Or if I do it's so rare. Sorry that rhymes! What's ur opinion? I guess I'm not trying to make a point as much as start a conversation about how different it "feels", "looks". What these guys do is amazing. It's art. Like Shawn k. For them skates...he's artistry hands down. I LOVE To watch him create. His style is beautiful. For real. But I'm wondering and I could be wrong but I'm not seeing the big stuff or not much at all and I'm just asking if we saw more real big stuff and meshed it with more grind artistry and complicated footwork tricks wouldn't that just like give us the full course meal? But this is all pending on maybe I'm missing the videos where they truly truly bring the big guns. Their doin scalpel work I feel. Let's bring the jaws of life gear!! Am I wrong or crazy? I say all this with complete respect and a happy attitude. Just conversation with questions. I love ur channel. It's the one I watch the most so in no way would I just talk smack. 🤙🤙 Ur channel gives me an escape where I can just think about all the stuff I wish I cud buy non stop and I learn Alot and I just dig the videos Alot. I really enjoy seeing the skates being used and then discussed. And I like to hear all the information of which I'm relearning and learning. It's ur channel and loco skates and that one guy from Peru? South Africa? or I'm blanking on his channel name. Sometimes I just can't recall stuff.!!! He's that ex skater for USD and dead wheels ...super big name.! I don't what's ur views on the difference from really back in the day and now and can we blend more? Can we bring back the staircases for example the big ones and flying into streets coming off a 20? stair staircase?

@@Hayyothhakodeshkkkkkk I have a similar view to yours but a slightly different opinion.... I think that our sport is such a small niche that if compared to winter sports we have fewer practitioners than some of them (even if not every country or city is possible to practice them) this is something that I cannot definitively understand, aggressive skating is the TRUE "under ground" sport that gives you the greatest freedom and opportunity to express yourself on the track and mainly use elements from the streets to do so and have fun.... That said, I think athletes should save themselves a little from those huge "gaps" of the 90s and early 21st century.... Here in Brazil, a skate is so expensive due to taxes and the devaluation of our currency that if we don't get a high and long gap right the first time it can cause us a considerable loss in our pockets (A new skate here costs the price of a used motorcycle). But I would also like to see more of what we saw in those good times!

I didn't mean did you watch the whole video, I mean did you watch the sections mentioned in the video. There are plenty of airs in them.
