Rolling Boulders to find GOLD!

First trip of the year into my Placer gold claim I call the "Dream Claim" For this trip in I spent the day up at Nugget Bar looking for more of the gold nuggets that this gravel bar is known for. I decided to check a spot I have not been able to detect before because of some big boulders. Rolling boulders is always fun and can sometimes produce some really nice gold.

I recently found gold in NJ! There's a place where glaciers dropped two long, parallel hills of material atop hard clay. Little springs pop out in places and form small streams, which erode gullies into the clay, where traps form. Sure enough, the first little gravel trap I cleaned out had 6 flecks of gold and one larger of platinum!
