Cheers Ollie, glad you enjoyed it. From the moment we tipped the powder in the first bucket to the final polish was 4 hours. Now usually if we did that in two separate hits... 1. Big ceiling 2. Two small ceilings It would of taken 6 hours so by rolling your gauges it gets you done faster. I personally don't do this every day because I like to sit and chill between trowels but I did work like this for about a year. The most I ever did was a 17 or 18 bag day. 7am until around 5:30pm I wasn't hard work and I just plodded on all day but I didn't have a single moment to take a break. It's not fun but it is possible 🤷‍♂️ To be fair if you went faster you could get loads more done but how much money do you need for one day 💰🤪😂

@@Onthetrowel that’s impressive that I’ve done 155 meter ceiling in a day 12 bags but did it in 3 separate hits and that was my limit I’ll try it your way next time 👍

Absolute legend , thank you for doing this I’ve been asking on the forums if anyone will put a vid up of how you do this for yonks!. I work on my own mostly and I’d rather be home spending time with my kids but you know the pressure builders can put on you to get m2 on sometimes it’s stressful . If I can do this I will be home at a reasonable hour and make some (LESS STRESS) ££’s . God bless ya bro 👌🤙🤙

Worked on over 250m² in a 1890th building and used 4x42-25kg sacks. Plastered 9 slooping ceilings, thats a hell of a job putting thirst layer netting 2,20m long. One room was 4 meters height with 2 slooping ceilings which I had to plaster on a aluminium stand shaky as he'll. I worked for a friend to get into the job. I like your wet trowel technique, in Germany it's not usual, They use here the sponge. In my opinion the wet trowel is more smooth to handle and not that much sweating as to work with the sponge. The best way to work is the clean and smooth way. Thank you for sharing your technique, it's nice to compare. In my opinion the technique depends on the weather and how fast the plaster harden, as you showed it in a video where you had to wait to scrape walls outside a house and did a ceiling meantime and ate with your workers. Much respect to your work ethics and technique, I would call it the English way- as usual showed the whole world how it has to be done.

Kirk, my first plastering job for a builder was to skim 13ft high walls. Used a rollling gauge , started on scaffolding and two coated the top half of the wall and finished by feathering the edge. Took away scaffold and did the bottom half and made sure I had plenty of PVA on the join and used water when blending in. Used the same technique on large ceilings. Comes up a treat. Not sure if I’ll have the nerve to try your technique, another great vid!
