Hi CoCo! Hoping you can shed some important light for me on this topic. I make STONES docs, and working on one now for Stones EXILE, and including Bobby's story (and promoting your channel!!), and want to get the record straight for fans. But trying to identify the exact timeline when Bobby went into OLYMPIC studio from Ascot to see Jimmy Miller (per Bobby Keys phone call, after he was at NELLCOTE) and played this tune. Was this Oct or Nov Fall of 71'......This is huge for me to get this fact, but understand if it is a cloudy recollection. I am not sure if the STONES were in the studio at this time. I know Bobby was in the studio with Dr. John and Jagger in Nov 70'. thank you for all!!!

It's not exactly a secret that Mick and Keith weren't the most "generous" people at giving credit where credit was due. They seemed to take a perverse pleasure "nicking" stuff from other artists and then laughing about it like pirates. Mick Taylor could probably relate a few stories about that. Henley was another raging egomaniac who loved to take credit for others work. The way he talks about Hotel California you would think all Felder came up with was a little "riff". Without "Hotel", the Eagles are just another good 70's band. It's amazing how shameless some of these musicians are, you kind of expect that from the "suits" but when the artists F each other over that's when it gets more hurtful.

@@dbob3405 I’m a huge GP fan and but still have to be convinced Gram either wrote Wild Horses or contributed substantially to Exile. As Bobby notes, The Stones "steal from their own" (Mick Taylor, Ron Wood, Billy Preston), so it's no surprise that they'd steal from a passing outsider. At the very VERY least, they should have credited him with playing ON the record. Shame on them!
@BeggarsForSomeSoul3 жыл бұрын
That groove was the highlight of that record. They haven't written a good song in 40 years! They have super fans in Brazil and I keep informing people of ripoffs like this being a songwriter myself with a British Connection. No-one realizes it's like taking your soul, or stealing your child when someone steals your creation and then doesn't even credit you. But know this...The people with a brain who know music history and the real organic process realize who you are and use your intensity as a measuring stick for the standard of excellence in singing, playing, songwriting, and grooves. Even Clapton went downhill after being with you.

@BW-CC3 жыл бұрын
No one gets credit for a guitar line in a song.. that's not how it works. It does take a great amount of effort to write a song. ..a succesful one. Mick had written songs that were taken. Keith hardly ever had anything positive to say about Mick Taylor, whether he was in or out of the band. I suspect he was/is more than a little jealous of Mick’s abilities. Keith is a decent guitarist and he can play a mean lick or two but Mick Taylor was light years ahead of him in those days and I just don’t think he could deal with that. As for why Mick quit the band, I always heard that it had something to do with not getting his rightful due for composing “Moonlight Mile”. Jagger was notorious for taking credit for the contributions of others. He’s not the only person to do that but he was certainly one of the more egregious and unapologetic in that regard.
