I hated how easily the pieces broke, especially the hand connectors after 2007. It made it hard to make MOCs and reduces that rebuild/replay value.

The blue part in his shield is there to stop the blades from opening up further. Also, Toa Mata Nui and Ultimate Dume look great together!

I watched this more to listen to you talk about bionicles them selves rather than watch you build one, I would literally watch videos of you just rant or talk about bionicles all day. I learned a few things and I've been a fan since Bionicle first ever came out when I was roughly 5 years old. Please make many more videos like this please!

Seeing that Mata Nui is the ultimate protagonist (as all the Toa are really the Protagonists, and none of them except the Toa Nuva, are the ultimate heroes out of all the different teams), it made sense that at the very end in its last full year of 2009, Mata Nui would be made as a Titan set. He deserves it after so long of it being the ultimate goal to awaken him. And therefore it made sense for Mata Nui to take on the role as the Protagonist and have him versus Makuta. As both had been the overarching characters from 2001. Overall they did a good job with how they handled 2009 and 2010 and this set for being the last Titan, is a good send off to the theme. It’s size is impressive and the colours make sense as Mata Nui is on Bara Magna, therefore he’d have sand colours as in the story Mata Nui is filling the gap of the Sand Tribe.

I kind of prefer the smaller version. It looks more complete, the color scheme looks better (big one is all over the place) and the proportions look more natural. I do want that golden Ignika, though. :P

I disagree about the colour scheme as an issue. For me, the yellow, orange colours work together as he is meant to be on a desert planet as if the robot has been buried in sand over all these years, that’s if this is supposed to be the Matoran Universe Robot. I think it makes sense as Mata Nui’s supposed to be on the desert chunk of Spherus Magna.

My favourite year was 2004. I just loved the Toa Metru (Vakama is my favourite character in the series) and I watched the movie like hundreds of times when I was a kid.

He’s called ‘Toa Mata Nui’ because he was called Toa Mata Nui by Ackar in BIONICLE The Legend Reborn.

I always kinda assumed that, at the end of he last comic, when Mata Nui returned to the mask of life and said it wasn't time for him to return to the Toa, Glatorian, Matoran, etc. yet, that he intended to return one day. When he did return to Spherus Magna, the mask of life created for him this body, and he joined the Toa (hence the name, Toa Mata Nui). Just a thought!

My favorite year is either 2007 or 2008 (Not the Mistika, the Phantoka). I really love the Toa Mahri. Not only was it the first wave of Bionicle I ever really had (I have sets dating back to 2005, but I had almost all of the main 2007 sets), it just over all has great sets and great titans.

My only experience with the 2006 story-line was with the "Ignition" comics and the commercials, and they didn't grab me at all. I've heard the books were better for the story, but I haven't had the chance to read them. 2009 on the other hand I actually really liked since I liked the colors and the comics, but I wasn't interested in buying the sets anymore since the 2006 wave. I also felt that 2009 had a lot of potential if it was allowed to grow a bit more, but that didn't happen. Basically, what I need to do is track down the books and read them.

I built my own Mata Nui Sword back around 2011, but not by cutting the pieces, I had to use portion of axels & dual sided axel connectors, a yellow scarab piece & a Hewkii Mahri thin blade piece from the VOrox Tail

The process doesn't really have anything to do with age. Technically Takua was older than any of the elders on Mata Nui.

Jay Productions if I recall correctly, in order for a Toa to turn into a Turaga, he needs to give his own Toa energy, like Toa Lhikan while creating the 6 Toa Stones for the matoran in metru nui And the way the Metru Toa give theirs to awake the matoran in the new island of Mata Nui.

One thing I don't understand about the movie (which I literally just finished watching) was Mata Nui's use of the word "Toa". I mean, don't Toa have to be part of the matoran/turaga/toa species thing? The Glatorian aren't part of that species, and neither are the Agori. So, why does he keep calling them Toa when he would probably notice them being a different species? Also, how come none of the Agori/Glatorian remember the name "Mata Nui". He is the great spirit, after all, and Bara Magna was once part of Spherus Magna just like the other two planets. Why?

Mata Nui's use of the word "Toa" is more honorary than factual. Toa are considered heroes within the MU, and because the Glatorian showed heroism, Mata Nui deemed them just as well as true Toa. As for the remembrance of the Great Spirit Robot, I'm not sure the Great Beings ever referred to their "giant robot pet project" by name to the residents of Spherus Magna. They were very mysterious and had more secrets than truths. Many Glatorian and Agori certainly remembered The Shattering and construction of the robot, but probably never knew it was called "Mata Nui."

No. Metru Nui exists as the "brain" for the Great Spirit Robot and lies beneath the surface of its skull. The GSR has a camouflage protocol initiated when the robot crash lands in the ocean of Aqua Magna, projecting an island onto the robot's face exposed above the water. The robot's systems called for making this projected island basically the same shape as Metru Nui, but larger. When villagers escaped from the wreckage of their original city to the surface on Aqua Magna, they named this new island after the Great Spirit itself. Basically, Metru Nui is beneath Mata Nui.

Teridax comes out of nowhere and decides do be a dick, puches a giant robot down onto a planet thus knocking him out, does everything in his power to stop backup forces from awakening him, makes Matoro sacrifice himself for nothing, and when Mata Nui does wake up, he lets everyone down by telling them he possesed him, throws Mata Nui again to another planet giving him a form the FRACTION of the form he once had, then Mata Nui gets a big robot again, then Makuta comes back and beats Mata Nui to a PULP, enough to kill him after defeating Makuta. What part of that is good?
