@victoriacharlesworth709917 сағат бұрын
Only God is Holy. We are sinners in desperate need of the Saviour Jesus Christ. We must be born again as Jesus states in John 3:3. 2 Corinthians 5:17 describes the complete change of being so. Also Titus 3:5. This priest is also a sinner who needs that free gift of salvation aswell as Mary did. Again, my friend, only God is Holy and the only way to Him is through Jesus and His finished work on the cross. Jesus said “I AM the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me”. There is a warning from Him in Matthew 7:21-23 and in the Ten Commandments of make no heaven images or worship another god before Him. 😊✝️. In Christ alone.

Know that not all Catholics are as calm, attentive and argumentative. And the title of the video doesn't match my opinion.

Haven’t watched it yet. But here is my prediction. She is going to ask questions, not listen to the answer, and respond based on the answer she wanted to hear instead of the one she got. There is also going to be a lot of “Prot-blasting,” by which I mean she will throw out a bunch of Bible verses. She will not seem to understand that we have these verses in our Bible as well and have worked through what they mean (usually centuries before her expression of Christianity came into existence). She will also ask a lot of questions, but not respond to any in turn. Will update after watching.

After watching, it was very difficult to hear, my prediction more or less lined up. If she is going to “evangelize” to Catholics, she really needs to get her information regarding the Church from the Church. We make it really simple to find out what we believe. We have this book that can be purchased that explains everything that we believe with sources far and wide. It’s essentially a one-stop-shop on Catholic teachings and beliefs. We call it the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Better yet, there is a wonderful podcast out there, which is completely free, where a priest reads the entire Catechism to you in a year; it’s called “Catechism in a Year.”

@Lauren-v9m From a born-again evangelical Christian perspective, transubstantiation-the belief that the bread and wine of the Eucharist become the actual body and blood of Christ-can be viewed critically for several reasons: ### 1. **Symbolic Interpretation:** Evangelicals often emphasize that Jesus’ teachings are metaphorical. In John 6:51-59, when Jesus speaks of giving His flesh to eat, many believe He is using symbolic language to convey the idea that belief in Him is essential for eternal life. The focus is on faith in Jesus as the source of spiritual nourishment, rather than a literal consumption of His body. ### 2. **Context of Faith:** The born-again experience is centered on personal faith and relationship with Jesus. Evangelicals may argue that the act of communion is an ordinance instituted to remember Christ’s sacrifice rather than to participate in a literal transformation of elements. The emphasis is placed on the heart's condition rather than the physical elements used. ### 3. **Disputes Among the Jews:** In John 6:52, the Jews dispute how Jesus can give His flesh to eat. Evangelicals might interpret this as an acknowledgment of the confusion surrounding His teachings. Rather than a directive to practice transubstantiation, it highlights the need for spiritual insight and faith to understand Jesus' message. ### 4. **Scriptural Consistency:** Evangelicals prioritize a consistent interpretation of Scripture. The Bible emphasizes faith in Christ and His atoning work rather than the ritual of eating His flesh. Passages like Ephesians 2:8-9 stress that salvation is by grace through faith, not by ritualistic practices. ### Summary of John 6:51-59: In this passage, Jesus declares Himself as the "living bread" and emphasizes the necessity of believing in Him to attain eternal life. The discourse challenges the listeners to move beyond the physical and understand the deeper spiritual truth of reliance on Christ for salvation. The focus is on faith and spiritual sustenance rather than the literal act of eating. ### Conclusion: The evangelical interpretation leans toward understanding Jesus' words as metaphorical and emphasizes a personal relationship with Him through faith, rather than adherence to ritualistic practices like transubstantiation.
@@Lauren-v9m The perception of Catholicism being representative of the saving Word of Jesus Christ is a well planned strategy from ancient pagan masters using high IQ deception principles to suppress truth with more of the same. If the priest was informed on his Catholicism believe in prayers for the dead he may have quoted the apocryphal book retained within Catholic Bibles. The story of Judas Maccabeus and his men praying for the dead is told in the Bible in 2 Maccabees 12:39-42: The story After defeating the men of Gorgias, the Jews bury their dead and pray for them. They discover that the men were carrying stolen idols, which were forbidden to the Jews. Judas Maccabeus collects silver to send to Jerusalem as a sin offering for the dead. The meaning This story is seen as a demonstration of the belief that prayers and sacrifices can help the dead. It also shows the belief that good people who have died can be forgiven for their sins. Some people interpret the story as a biblical justification for the idea of purgatory. The Catholic perspective The story shows that prayers from the living can help purify the dead. It also demonstrates the Jewish belief in purgatory, which is a place where lesser sins are purged. Not to be followed as its not accredited Christian scripture but the Catholics think it's good enough and ignore God’s warnings against prayers ti the dead in Deuteronomy 18.
