I believe they are Banjaras found in Rajasthan, Gujrat can be seen in any state living in tents specially I see in Delhi most of them are from Rajasthan, the Romanies facials are much similar to Banjaras I am from Rajasthan and I have seen all Banjaras having red tan skin tone, brown eyes, brown hair, and they also wear beads as malas, its their culture they are merchants thats why they don't stay at a single place for long, the main reason for their migration to Europe is Islamic invaders who used to kidnap and loot these Banjara merchant and traders and sent them as slaves to turkey thats why Hindukush mountain range was named means 'hindu killer" as most of them used to die during journey

I am Indian living in Austria. I have seen how Roma are hated and discrminated. It is not only on Austria, every where in Europe they are seen with hateful eyes. I dont know how, when people come to know that I am Indian, they treat the way a normal man is treated. But when treat a Gypsy, who too have Indian looks, are seen with hate.

I think it’s because Roma have a reputation for rejecting formal education, for begging in the streets, for scamming, and for stealing, that’s why white Europeans are more likely to treat Indians and other south Asians in civil manner but are less likely to treat Roma people like that

maybe because of how much India developed over history and that now it's basically a super-power country like China or Russia, and it's to some extent fear I guess, while about Roma, people show hate because they've seen the bad examples of Roma, like stealing, begging, being unwashed, refusing to integrate in society and not going to school and etc. (It's also added when some parents educate their kids or threaten if they misbehave "the Gypsy is going to get them and steal them") but that's the thing, if we concentrate at the negative, we'll see only the negative. And the stealing and begging pretty much lots of people do, doesn't matter the nationality or ethnicity. Some say Roma don't go to school cuz it's their "tradition" - far from it ! it's a stupid motive. Some just simply either don't want to, or can't afford it, I dunno it's their problem. To me the best I found to not concentrate to the racism part and to develop myself, whether they appreciate it or not, i'm gonna do for my own good at least.

@@swapnilpawar8015 Yeah I get it, but in my case it Was not a Problem, yes in school I got called a Gypsy very often and bullied once by a Guy from 4th grade when I Was 2nd, and asked me if I am Gypsy, and the teachers also didn't like the Roma, however, I still got the Chance to study, it Was not like "oh you're gypsy we don't accept you to Enter in Our school", plus in the Times of my mother and grandma, it Was worse, and still they also went to school, that's what I don't get why others don't go, is their government so against it? Maybe in other countries is worse, I don't know, in my country there is also discrimination, but it's not that harsh. People rather enjoy the roma culture not all of course, but they seem more tolerant. So in this case I can relate only partly.

Well, even if Romanis had Indian connection i highly doubt they would prefer to accept or acknowledge it. And if they've migrated centuries ago they're no more Indians. So i guess it's better to let them live in their new region with their new culture.
