The Romani people, also known as Romani, have faced centuries of persecution and discrimination in Europe. With a rich cultural heritage and a history rooted in India, the Romani have endured marginalization, social exclusion. Descendants of migrants who left northwestern India around a thousand years ago, the Romani have spread throughout Europe. Despite their diverse traditions, languages, and contributions to various societies, they have often been subjected to prejudice and hostility. Efforts to address the systemic discrimination faced by the Romani continue, promoting social inclusion, equal opportunities, and recognition of their rights as a vibrant ethnic group with Indian origins.
